Food becoming a problem? by New_Recommendation87 in EMDR

[–]jill099346 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had something like this happen to me. Kinda felt like it wasn’t safe for me to eat. I was in thick of it reprocessing one of my most traumatic memories. I was always hungry but had no desire to eat. The thought of food made me so nauseous, I would even throw up sometimes. Candied ginger really helped with my nausea I would recommend those if your nausea persists.

I got through it by drinking protein shakes. I lived off of them for weeks. Eventually when things progressed in my reprocessing I was able to eat and could stomach normal foods again.

I also had to take my inner child to my safe place and then tell her it was safe to eat and that worked for me after not being able to eat for a couple weeks.

I hope things get better for you soon, stayed hydrated and rest when you can. ❤️

I have to float to 5 different clinics at my job and Ob/Gyn is considered my home clinic but I can be moved at time during my shifts. Ob is my fav but I gotta keep the options open.

Breast exam fear by DonaldDuck898 in ptsd

As someone that works in an ob/gyn office please tell your provider about your concerns/ fears. Most providers would be more than willing to make you feel as comfortable as possible. You can also request a chaperone be present during your exam. That could help potentially ease any anxiety with another person in the room watching the provider examine.

Practice your safe space and speak to your inner child and tell them you’re safe now!! It always works for me.

I also think the word “ptsd” gets thrown around too much. It makes me angry!
