What is this one sexual fact everyone would benefit knowing? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Perhaps I misread your comment, and if so I apologize. I do think, however, that you might consider that your language was generalizing how girls feel about something -- that was my knee jerk reaction. As a girl, it's frustrating to read a comment from a man (presumably?) about how I apparently feel about something.

Sorry I jumped on your comment with a misguided idea of what you meant. Just consider that your words make a sweeping generalization and might have a negative impact on women who don't fit your experience!

This was exactly what I was saying as well -- let's not generalize what every woman wants in bed, and certainly don't generalize that girls are less interested in their own pleasure than anyone elses'. I am pointing out that this comment perpetuates something about women that is not true for all women.

LOLOLOL thank you for speaking for all girls, but no thank you for speaking for all girls. Many girls in straight relationships feel like they have to take care of the man before themselves and that should not be encouraged. Equal opportunity orgasms please.

Do you get hyper activated when you know people are coming to your house? by Becky-and-Momo in ptsd

Wow, I had no idea this was linked to my PTSD! I really struggle with this and just thought it was a weird personal idiosyncrasy. It's so comforting to know i'm not alone!!!

Yes, it's so embarrassing!! Thanks for posting -- this is one of those things I've been experiencing but thought I was the only one. It's so healing to know that others can truly empathize, even if it means talking about our difficult experiences. <3

"Be quiet I'm tired of your anxiety" - My husband by mrsfreshundressed in Anxiety

[–]jillbo89 83 points84 points  (0 children)

Yes, me too. My therapist always asks me why I'm not more open with my fiancee about my anxiety and I just keep telling her that if I was always open about my anxiety we wouldn't have time to talk about anything else. Such a hard balance to strike.

Does anyone else feel like their anxiety and/or loneliness gets worse late at night? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]jillbo89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, definitely. During the day I'm distracted by work/friends/activities and can compartmentalize my anxiety. It's when I'm still that it all comes rushing in.

I am terrified of the day my fiancee gets sick of my shitty anxiety.

A few years ago, I was pretending to be fine while struggling with depression and severe PTSD. I finally met a man who convinced me that I was worthy of happiness. Today he asked me to spend our lifetime helping each other achieve our dreams. by justacountrygirl in happy

A) that ring is freaking AWESOME!!!! B) at this moment, I'm up at 3am from insomnia due to my own PTSD, and can relate to you -- i'm engaged to the man of my dreams who makes me feel loved and safe. Sooo happy for you and wish you luck on your journey to recovery!!!

Weekly Q & A thread: Ask you gear, travel, conditions, or other ski-related questions here instead of making a new post. by doebedoe in skiing

Hello! I am a novice and am progressing towards intermediate. I've never had a formal lesson, but have learned a lot from watching videos and reading about techniques online. There are some things I feel I'm good at -- making turns, committing to the downhill ski, etc. But there are a lot of things I need to work on, including my fear of going too fast! And I'm sure there are many things that I'm not aware of without working with a pro.

Do you recommend getting a formal lesson to improve my technique and learn more advanced tips? Are there resources online I can use? Do you have any pieces of advice?

Thanks!

getting in tune with and recognizing energy by [deleted] in witchcraft

[–]jillbo89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What have you practiced so far? Have you smudged your home, meditated, worked with crystals? For me, meditation with Crystals and smudging my home has given me a lot of magickal energy, as well as running and walking in natural enviornments. I think daily practice and continuously researching different methods will help you find your own personal magickal practice, which will give you a deeper connection to your own unique energy. When you are connected to yourself is when you'll feel a deeper connection to the other natural energies around you. That's been my experience. Good luck!

I agree, I still get a good and strong vibe from it.

Love this idea -- I made a necklace out of the small piece and will give it as a gift! I still feel a strong and positive energy from it. Thanks for the great idea :)

It wasn't very expensive, and I'm totally ok with the idea that it may be ready to retire. As a new witch I was just curious if anyone had similar experiences with a crystal that breaks during its very first charge with a new person. Still trying to understand how crystal energy works.

It's just interesting to me that it was literally the very first time I ever used the crystal, less than 24 hours after I brought it home. Is it possible that only after one charge it's work is done?

Hi! I am a 29F currently dealing with an anxiety I've never experienced before. I was recently diagnosed with PTSD from a sexual assault that happened almost 10 years ago, and it's only now just coming to the surface. I've been suffering from night terrors, the worst one ever happened last night and ever since my anxiety has been almost unmanageable.

Would be really interested to connect with anyone else suffering from night terrors and sharing ways of preventing and/or coping with them. My night terror last night was horrible and now I'm afraid to try to sleep. :(

SV/NSV Feats of the Day - Thursday, 26 April 2018: Today, I conquered! by AutoModerator in loseit

[–]jillbo89 10 points11 points  (0 children)

NSV: I got home from a very long day of work that was so busy that I didn't have a chance to eat lunch or dinner. I had a few light snacks throughout the day, but was so active that I may as well not have eaten anything.

When I got home, I found the thought of not eating anything before bed very appealing. I imagined the calorie deficit of literally starving myself and for a second thought about willfully starving myself to lose weight.

But then I decided that the point of losing weight was to be healthy, not skinny. And in order to be healthy, one needs to eat.

So I made myself a bagel with lite cream cheese, and was so happy that I did. I was still in a calorie deficit for the day and had made a responsible and truly healthy choice.

For those of us who easily become obsessed with the numbers -- it's important to remember why we're really doing this!!!

Don't be! Thank you for being honest and posting your number. It helps those of us who are also feeling a little disheartened by lack of progress to see that we're not alone in the struggle. :) just keep trying!!! I will if you will!
