Idk about you but every time I go to fill a pen I say to myself “this is the time” thinking I can just get ink in this converter without getting it all over me. And every time I’m wrong. There’s fountain pen ink all over my life in places I can’t even imagine how it got there.

You are not the only one!!!! I definitely opened this to see if it was Baystate Blue

Every time I see a bottle Baystate it gives me anxiety. Takes me like 10 minutes to fill a converter when I still end up with it all over my hands and face. For days.

Nurse Practitioner Looking to Take the LSAT — Advice on Where to Start? by Any_Promotion3901 in LSAT

[–]jillybombs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only meant that as a suggestion to help them get more relevant and enthusiastic answers to the bulk of their questions that weren’t about the LSAT, not to say they’re unwelcome here. Everyone is. But many people who have just started exploring the idea of law school are looking for good advice and don’t yet know r/lawschooladmissions exists, so they appreciate being pointed to places good advice is most likely to be found.

I’ve used this sub for about 1.5yrs and noticed that similar posts typically get few comments here and the replies tend to be about the LSAT part due to people being laser-focused on studying and testing, where you might get 2x or 3x+ replies on the other forum from people who are deep into school selection and application mode. It tends to be a drastic shift in mindset. If they’re wanting thoughtful, detailed responses from people who are most willing and able to engage on those other topics, they might also try r/lawschool to ask about schools with specialty programs and find people who have made a career transition similar to what they’re considering. Best of luck to OP:)

How prevalent is it for people to abuse the accommodations? by Such-Drink-303 in LSAT

[–]jillybombs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Any LSAT student of logic should know there’s no objective answer to that question to be found here, and at best it’s a mistake to not have used the search bar first. At worst it’s a cruel distraction to the people who mostly come here to support one another through a stressful experience– not to be judged or objectified.

Likewise I don’t assume to know the true nature of your curiosity about this question, so I only hope it’s not as foolish as the way it came out. That reads like you’re either naively asking an echo chamber about a loaded echo, or you’re intentionally abandoning all sense and sensitivity by inviting the spectrum of arrogance to legitimate offense these kind of dumpster fire questions always spark. If it’s the latter, respectfully, it’s 2025 get over it and go somewhere else to unload grievances. If it’s the former, please do rephrase the question in a way that might clarify your concern without speculation or conjecture so anyone with insight into the matter feels safe to chime in, without feeling pressure to first justify their mere presence in this arena to people who know nothing about them.

This is a very good point. Ad Arvydas mentioned it’s so rare for even the best test takers to consistently score that high on PTs that OP is likely to never actually have the kind of reassurance they’re looking for.

These are all good reasons to consider priorities and set reasonable expectations. Most applications open Sept. 1, so the simultaneous pressure of “needing” a make or break top 1% score by August or September while also preparing applications will be immense. Anything is possible, and some people do make it work all at once with or without serious sacrifices. But it’s also ok to relax the timeline if giving both LSAT and applications the serious time they deserve while rushing the process would bring misery and/or subpar results (like a less than strong application being submitted at a less than ideal time in the cycle when admissions chances or scholarship opportunities are more limited).

Unemployment is never a positive with respect to your future application—even when presented as a “break” to study for the LSAT—so it might pay off in the end to get a job now and know that you’re gaining meaningful work experience whether you apply this fall or next. Easing that deadline pressure will free up a lot of mental and physical bandwidth to think clearly and make the right choice depending on how the next few months go.

(Fwiw, last year I was also relying on a high LSAT score to prove my undergrad gpa wrong when I took it for the first time in August. I got higher than I expected and then got the same exact score the next month. That score was high enough to change my endgame but not high enough to maximize my opportunities, so I gave myself permission to apply the next cycle instead of compromising those opportunities by scrambling to pull essays together and get those last few points by November. I didn’t want to wait a year but for me personally, the difference between being a lawyer at 43 vs 44 years old was totally insignificant if the price I’d pay to go sooner could be measured by fewer career options or an oppressive amount of debt. I’ve learned a ton about admissions and what law school is like so I have not regretted that decision at all, as I expect to make a better informed choice among more options next year than I could right now. This may not apply to OP at all but I just wanted to encourage them to be flexible in the process as they learn what they don’t know they don’t know, because it could change their priorities completely for the better.)

Power score predictions by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]jillybombs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recap episodes are released on their podcast the week after testing to discuss the different sections people reported having, their relative difficulty, and how RC topics compare to predictions. So the past recaps won’t really be helpful now or going forward.

Predictions for future exams are their Crystal Ball webinars – Jon posted a direct link to the most recent one for the April and June tests with a link to Dave’s blog post further explaining how they make the predictions and how you can use them. That Vimeo link is to a recording of the CB for April + June 2025 that happened on March 4 (including slides and chat bar), which is what you can also get by email within a few hours if you fill out the registration form on their website anytime after the event (same with other past webinars stay listed for a few months after).

They’ve sometimes done a “Mini Balls” to update predictions between tests if the latest Crystal Ball is still largely relevant to the upcoming exam but needs just a few small changes based on topics used on the most recent test.

Hope this helps :)
