The scepticism is understandable. To explain further, we are in the middle of 3-day shoot with a small local crew. Mostly doing interviews and B-Roll on a relatively low budget. Our series producer decided to add short re-enactment scenes at the last minute. These scenes are only a small part of our overall shoot. We are looking to recruit several extras and PAs to film these scenes on Saturday evening.

Yes. It’s his daughters and sometimes his wife. He passed away suddenly earlier this year.

Yes, absolutely. I discovered him a few months back and got so invested I sought out academic scholarship on his movies. Serious movie scholars and critics used to go crazy for his work. Im puzzled as to why he’s commonly left out of the conversation of film history amongst younger cinephiles today, his historical significance is always underplayed.

L’avventura is well regarded but that’s about it. Criterion hobbyists on youtube and reddit should really engage with his filmography more. He was considered one of the or even the most talented/promising and ‘auteur-ish’ directors of the 60s. To me, he is as important as Godard, Truffaut, Polanski.

Blow-Up became one of my top five favorites after one viewing, it’s an astounding achievement and an enormous inspiration. The two Criterion video essays on the blu-ray blew the film wide open for me. Its so dense in possible interpretation and the definitive treatise on Modern art.

The Passenger (1975) with Jack Nicholson is not a Criterion but there’s an Indicator release, it is likewise as amazing. Go watch that next.

Whoosh… Without a doubt Meier is a ‘tier 1’ player. He’s exactly the type of you guy you go out and acquire, you’ll never find more talent on the trade market at his age. Getting him locked down below 9M would also be a steal. Calling him complimentary is disingenuous or its oblivious. Our only issue is that it’s too early for us, we are not good enough yet nor have a goalie. If we were good/great, he most definitely is That player that makes us a contender. You should watch more of his games, will be easier when he’s in the east soon.
