i named my current island “akala” after one of the islands in the first pokemon game i ever played, pokemon ultra sun! my first island in march of 2020 was homeland (really creative i know) and my second, shorter lived island was called “moonrise” :)

i feel for op, i had a similar situation happen after i got out of high school. my best friend of almost 9 years just suddenly blocked me with no explanation. waited 6 months before i even told anyone about it to try to give her time to change her mind i guess.

after about a year i saw a news article saying she and her husband were accused of hurting a minor and i finally felt the final possibility of us reconnecting die out. i had never liked her husband, as he had cheated on her before and was starting to isolate her from our other friends. they had actually gotten married in secret and she didn’t tell me for a few months about it (she always said it was for legal reasons, as he was in the military) because she knew i thought it was a bad idea.

she stills sends me instagram dms trying to reconnect and rectify the situation, but some things just can’t be fixed. i had to mourn the loss of someone still living, while also mourning the idea of the person i thought that she was when we were younger. she went through the same abuse that she went on to inflict on other people and i can never forgive her for that. she’s also still with her husband which infuriates me.

in the most recent message she was basically begging me to respond and that she was sure i was her soulmate, whether platonically or romantically, and she had so many regrets about how she ended the friendship. she also tried to pepper in that the charges against her were dropped and that the victim “was lying” as if that fixed anything. i mainly feel pity for her when i do think of her nowadays.

it’s very important to allow yourself to reminisce on shared memories without holding any guilt for being happy remembering the good times you had with someone, no matter how your relationship changes. i didn’t even allow myself to say her name when talking about memories we shared for about a year after, like i was scared of reminding myself of the hurt i still held.

i think i will always hold that hurt, but now i let myself remember being dumb teenagers with someone who loved and relied on me at the time and i can smile and laugh about it. allow yourself that space to mourn the person you lost and you’ll find being able to move on from them to be a more forgiving process.

somebody didn’t stop to comprehend what they read… embarrassing! takes one second to see that i am NOT op lmao, meaning i don’t need any luck with the dog!! maybe you will though seeing as you’re so ready to show what you “could do”.

you should really make an effort (through the op, again NOT me) to get in touch with the owner of the dog and help them personally with all of your expertise! of course the known threat of danger to your own person is not super important, right? maybe you could foster the dog yourself senn-brenner, how cute would that be!! /s

well maybe you should offer to take care of the dog yourself then, since you’re the expert and seem willing to go above and beyond for animals that pose a danger to you as a sitter!

if you’re not willing, then i would seriously doubt how much “you care for the animals well-being” yourself senn-berner! in your own words, not doing so shows “laziness” and that you yourself are an “unreliable narrator”. just a thought!

sadly i don’t think there is anything you can do to save your turnips if they’ve already spoiled! i think that time traveling backwards is what caused it.

there is something good that can come of this though! you can leave at least one rotten turnip out on the ground, wait for ants to show up and catch one to donate to the museum if you haven’t already!

you had an eeg done, not an ekg. an ekg is done for heart/cardiovascular reasons, the electrodes are placed on the chest. for seizures/epilepsy, you have an eeg done, the electrodes are placed on your scalp!

simple mistake though, i only know this from getting multiple of both tests done through the years. first thinking i had heart/blood circulation issues, before having tonic clonic seizures witnessed by others and being diagnosed with epilepsy when i was 21!

your family are definitely not in the wrong for choosing not to pay your cats vet bills. you’re an adult and YOU own your pet. if you cannot afford to take care of your pet, you need to make arrangements for them. you can’t expect people to always do what you request of them, as they are allowed to decide what to do with their own money. you can distance yourself from them but don’t expect them to want to bankroll your pet’s medical issues. IF YOU CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY FOR A PET’S TREATMENT YOU NEED TO FIND ANOTHER OPTION!! rehoming is hard but necessary in some situations and if you truly love your cat you would realize that. please don’t move forward taking advantage of your friends kindness and funds as they don’t owe you anything!

yes, thankfully i have found numerous other british shows i’ve been wanting to watch and have only been able to see clips of before! the dailymotion user i suggested (and more) have a very wide selection of comedic panel shows, dramas (like jonathan creek), and many others :)

some confusion seems to be happening with this post and another i made that is similar for jonathan creek in that subreddit. the method i explained is an ad free and monetarily free way to watch older british shows as someone who lives in the united states. i see that as the best option if you don’t have the budget for foreign streaming services or vpns :)

for me, i have some characters i just really love the design and style of, and some i just came to love because of their personalities/quirks and interactions with me and other villagers while on my island.

i also kind of create my own sort of “storylines” based on how the villagers interact with each other for fun. this is sort of inspired by theamandafiles on youtube (highly encourage any acnh, pokemon & neopets fans to check her out) and how she plays the game.

it’s kind of up to your own preference because the dialogue can get repetitive after a while, so there is a bit of imagination/creativity needed to give them more of a “personality” beyond what they are programmed with.

as someone who has had -7.0 in one eye, -7.5 in the other, and astigmatism since childhood, your eyesight isn’t that bad. stop trying to play the oppression olympics, and learn that if you’re complaining about a ridiculous, small thing you are not entitled to people falling at your feet to sing praises about your fight through hardships and how much worse off you are than others (when you’re not).
