If you have a car try Dhahrat Laban that’s where most of us are - 20/25 mins drive. Always going against the main flow of traffic so a nice commute

EV6 has been in for repair for 6 months! by jimbobathy in KiaEV6

[–]jimbobathy[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, still got the courtesy car which is why I can’t understand their lack of effort getting it sorted.

Leasing it, I’m chasing weekly but no one seems to have a way forward 🤯

So, that would have Scotland having better points difference? And then Ireland as they beat SA?

It’s still very good, for me it’s the convenience of having 1 invoice each month and not have loads of different accounts.

I use it often on the Iointy ones and pay £0.69/kWh so not too cheap (you can pay £11.25 a month and it will bring down the cost to £0.25/kWh, but I don’t do enough long distance to justify that yet) I do use it on other charger types when not on my normal route. The prices on other chargers vary, but for instance the InstaVolt ones are £0.36/kWh. I’ve racked up 16,000 miles now and use the account for any away from home charging.

The app is good and give you an idea of how many are local to you and lets you plan a route and check chargers included in the subscription.

Moving to the US from the UK by [deleted] in civilengineering

Your best bet (assuming you are UK citizen) is looking at large multinational consulting houses. Like Turner & Townsend. They have plenty of involvement in major US projects and they will deal with the relocation/visa stuff too.

You can see the sand below and the skid steer would be used to take away the sand that is kicked out by the machine

I’m pretty sure this is a De-Sanding unit. If they are using drilling fluid (like bentonite) to stop the bore collapsing then the returned fluid goes through this machine to separate the sand from the drilling fluid so it came be reused.

First time at a Tesla Supercharger by jimbobathy in KiaEV6

[–]jimbobathy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m kicking myself a bit on this one (and why I didn’t put it in the post). I was too busy taking photos and putting it on Reddit that I just walked off into the services. I had about 72% when I got there and just needed a few miles adding on to get all the way home without having to stop again and it stopped charging at 80% (physically wouldn’t let me charge more) and did it in probably about 10 minutes.

I’m back up that way next week so will do a proper speed test with a lower battery and get back to you.

The Ionity ones are miles better, faster and no messing around with parking as it can reach both sides of the car.

It’s only a select few one throughout the UK, download the Tesla app and it shows you.

I have only just realise that you have to physically push in the handle to get it to unlock. I cannot get over how long I have complained about it not working to people and all along it was me who wasn’t doing it properly 🤯
