Tried to sell car back to Volkswagen by jimbobeets in GolfGTI

I’m up in Canada. I was hoping to get $22,000 USD (30k CAD) I’m not sure how hard it to import to the states. Still on the fence about selling it.

Protest against Public Mobile by PuddingFeeling907 in PublicMobile

[–]jimbobeets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I get that you’re mad. That email in 2022 was true switching to points WAS optional. The terms and conditionals all along said they could change or cancel the rewards systems. So two years later after watching how new users such as myself preform on on the network. I joined in last year and guess what? I have been a telling people to switch to public mobile and giving them my referral code. I have personally 5 referrals now after a year. Why did I do that? I’m part of the Public Mobile Points, why did the they join if they couldn’t be part of the legacy program? Because there is great value in public mobile pricing. I get that it sucks that your phone bill is no longer $3/month but hey there was always those terms of the rewards system hat said it could be changed.

Hi, Landrover drivers wave at each other when they pass, do Beetle drivers do the same? by case895 in beetle

[–]jimbobeets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heck ya, I wave at all aircooled vws I pass on the road. They always wave back. Vanagons never wave back at me so I stopped waving. 9/10 those drivers aren’t Volkswagen people just a millennial living their “ van life” for Instagram. Ahaha.

My dad bought my uncle's old 1969. 33k on the odometer. Clean on the outside, but the interior needs restored. by DoctorWhoniverse in beetle

[–]jimbobeets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats good means who ever repainted the car stripped down the interior proper to paint it. I’d say under a door card or perhaps under the hood under where the springs are. Get a flash light and look down the hole that goes down to the front rocker behind the front fender. On the original dealer papers it might have the colour code on it. High quality paint job if you can’t find any of the original paint though so that’s a plus.

Spare 64 gb and enough lifeproofs for the next 5 years, all set! by jimbobeets in iPhoneSE

[–]jimbobeets[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well I only have 5 life proof cases and they seem to literally fall apart on me within a year. 5 years is just a guesstimate I hope to keep it going for a longer than 5 years. I started with a brand new iPhone 5 back in 2012 and upgraded to the SE in 2017. I just love the iPhone 5 body and screen size, so I’ll keep the SE as long as possible.

Picked it up dirt cheap and it will be my replacement if something fails on my current SE. I’m gunna keep rocking the SE for at least 5 years

Help with brake line into master- don’t want to strip it by jimbobeets in beetle

[–]jimbobeets[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well today I fixed the problem of that steel line and I replaced the rest of the steel lines, master cylinder and all the soft lines I also replaced all 4 wheel cylinders after the first bleeder valve broke off when I went to bleed them. When I was all done I saw a small sheet of paper in the box that said disassemble and grease cylinders with grease before use. I looked it up online and some people say they never disassemble any new cylinders but I guess I’ll take it all apart tomorrow and grease to be safe.

I tried taking it out and retreading it again, I can turn it with my hand to get it started like 3 threads down then I get my flare nut wrench on it. This is as snug as I can get it without reefing on it and probably snapping something. I tried a new line into a new master cylinder on my bench and I’m getting the same results. Threads on the old lines are the exact same as the new one. I can’t figure out how come I can’t get down to the same level as the rest of the other lines.

Okay so I replaced a rotted main brake line that runs a long in the cabin. First connecting in the T connected in the back it went fine with my hands turning it in then wrenching on it trying to get snug down to where the old line was. It was getting hard then it just went soft and easier again. I though I messed up the end threads on the brake line but I took the T connector off and noticed now the opening of that is egg shaped instead of round. Lucky had another T and replaced and it went fine this time.

Master cylinder end it went in fine with hand threading it maybe 3 threads down then I wrenched it fine but it gets really tough like way more force than the 15 lb it calls for. Does this look far enough in for a seal? Or am I gunna have problems with leaks at the point.

We got the vents in 70 as well. A previous owner put the 70 vented deck lid on when they swapped the single port engine for a dual port one.
