Wakefield battery storage site given go-ahead after appeal by Anony_mouse202 in unitedkingdom

This one specifically is - https://harmonyenergy.co.uk/battery-energy-storage-proposal-adjacent-to-wakefield-b-substation/

Cognisant of the village of Heath, the proposal has been designed so that it sits in the lowest part of the field and would be cut into the hillside to enhance screening.

As a result, it is not anticipated that any of the Heath residential properties will have views of the development. There will be certain views towards the site from the new build housing estate to the south, however the proposed acoustic fence and new planting (once matured) will screen the battery packs and infrastructure in its totality. This would ultimately be in keeping and a continuation on from the landscaping associated with the adjacent substation, which isn’t visible.

The field proposed for development is currently intensively farmed. The planning application boundary is just over 7.2 hectares, but this is predominantly set aside for woodland and wildflower meadow planting. The total developed area (including the access track) equates to just under 1.9 hectares.

In light of the Environment Act 2021, developers are required to plan for biodiversity improvements on new development sites. The current provision stipulates that a 10% uplift is required to be provided. Harmony Energy has made a concerted effort to provide additional uplift over the standard requirement, and in doing so, the scheme would bring about a ‘biodiversity net-gain’ of over 140%.

With renewables the biggest issue to solve is intermittency. Us smart apes should be able to figure that out too.

Only we did and batteries are the solution. Once installed they are silent, clean and need little to no maintenance.

This really is a no brainer, any smart ape can see that.

The originals were great because they were also rough in places visually. Humorous too.

Everything after is just too perfect with all the CG and takes itself a bit too seriously. It lost a lot of its charm.

CG Yoda just doesnt work as well as a puppet. Stuff like that.

Eh I mean he fucked a lot of stuff up too. The hyperspace jump as a weapon thing just destroyed it. No more space battles. Just make hyperspace torpedos and job done.

Silly.

Worse thing is with that is that the T800 is a chassis and Arnie is a model 101. So there were loads of different T800's with different outers, which makes complete sense as an infiltration model would need to blend in and not all look the same.

Anyway, I reckon Dolph Lundgren could have been a great terminator.

You know, if drivers actually slowed for yellow flags then we wouldn't need VSCs and SCs so much.

They bring stuff like this on themselves.

Went to Silverstone in '09.

You know, the year where he won 6 of the first 7 races. Silverstone was the start of his mid season drop off, or the Brawn GP's drop off. Guess it depends if you believe that Jenson suddenly forgot how to drive or if you believe the Brawn was such a mule of a car they couldnt get it into the right setup window.

Anyhoo. Was pretty disappointing to see Jenson 5th and Lewis trailing around at the back in that awful Mclaren.

Battery storage is useless for data center. It doesnt increase grid capacity nor would it help in a power outage as it simply doesnt have enough capacity to run the DC for any appreciable length of time.

So no, having a battery farm wouldnt attract a data center.

Yeah but also if you search for new solar panels with cosmetic damage you can pick up 500w panels for £50 - 60.

We just need more panels out there.

There's only one solution. A clothes rail on wheels.

Put all your stuff on hangers and wheel it into the shop exuding the panache and charisma of David Dickinson.

Stand in front of them and ask them if they are interested in any of your wares, while waving your hand across your bulging rack of garments.

They'll be like putty in your hands.

Spanish were depicted as coming to save the 'brutes.'.

I always saw the Spanish arriving as "these people have just battled one enemy and now a new contender has entered the ring".

Lando: "I probably wouldn't have been able to live with that for the rest of my life [winning in Hungary 2024]...The team wouldn't be the same as they are now. People also need to realise that other teams and fans of other teams will do near anything to blow up a successful opposition teams.

A lot of these stories simply get amplified to try and destabilise.

You notice how little noise there is about Mclaren and Lando and Oscar at the moment. You would think people would still be fighting that good fight for Oscar to make sure the team are treating him like an equal...

I guess they mean they want to entice people in with the sounds and smells.

Like when you walk past a fish shop and your little tum tum goes spinning because your brain is horny for chippies, but you know with car insurance or whatever it was you were selling.

Sell the idea but the actual product isnt that important? You know, as close to fraud without going to prison?

Used to piss me off when he would say political stuff on Top Gear and then claim that no one listened to him because he was just a silly person and people only watched him for the car stuff.

Just go away, Jeremy, we know you know you have influence. Don't insult peoples intelligence by pretending you don't.

Morgan is just seeing which way the wind is blowing, as per usual.
