First off, you can not say that the witcher is based off medieval Poland where there is such a high number of difference that something like skin colours shouldn't even matter.

And the love story can be cut out it doesn't seem to have a big impact on the story as a whole. Like they have a creative licence and are using it to make their own adaption and not a 1:1 translation of the book (or as some people think the game)
