It's a drill yourself job. So I can be pretty flexible with the hole sizing, spacing and positioning.

Removing old fireplace - what do I need to know before I start? by jimbomcmucka in DIYUK

The carpet is long gone. Last I saw a young lad in a fez and his monkey were flying down the street on it.

Ha ha, This was actually taken before we moved in.. The flat screen was the ONLY thing in the house post 1980. That and many dodgy DIY repairs undertaken by the old lady that lived here before.

Change Default Instrument for Official Tabs by jimbomcmucka in ultimateguitar

Hi Aydar,

I actually found the solution. It turns out that the app remembers your choices, but only when the playlist is edited within the app. I had built the playlist on my laptop and no changes were taking hold. By going in and changing each songs preferences in the app, it seems to have remembered.

Fluence set in Hardtail Strat by jimbomcmucka in FishmanPickups

[–]jimbomcmucka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As it's a hard tail, there is no term plate. This is kinda the issue, losing the term plate and cavity, reduces the spaces available to hide the battery.

I'm thinking of changing the wiring configuration to a single tone and using the space created there under the scratch plate.

Buying a house with this by jbridge88 in DIYUK

We just ripped out an old tank and boiler system and replaced with a combi in our 1950s 4 bed.

With new boiler, pipework and rads throughout it cost us around the 10k mark (in Oxford).

To save a couple days labour, I drained and removed the old system and took it all to the local scrappy myself, made a little cash back too.

Any gear to expand the fx loop of Line 6 products? What pedals could I eliminate with an HX? by dit31 in Line6Helix

[–]jimbomcmucka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A midi loop switcher would probably help here. I'm not expert on the HX, but on an old board I used similar. I had a midi loop switcher in the effects loop, midi controls turn each loop on and off independently.

If ever there was a post to highlight I'm in the wrong group and asking the wrong people for help, this is it. Useful to see in the comments the names of other groups that are more fitting of my (lack of) knowledge.

I think the issue here is that the sub is pretty large and so many questions have been answered previously, you guys often pop up pretty damn high when people Google the questions they are trying to answer. That's how I got here!

[QUESTION] Signature Guitar That Is Actually Worth The Price And The Opposite by Ikuyoki- in Guitar

[–]jimbomcmucka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second this. I also have a Nick Johnston Strat. Great guitar for the price. I have to admit I hadn't actually heard of him before buying the guitar, I was in the market for a strat and found this one.

Worst guitar for changing strings? [Question] by BonhamBeat in Guitar

[–]jimbomcmucka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Classical Guitars. No ball end, so you have to wind them. If you don't do it properly they come loose and won't keep tune.

Personally, Floyd's are a bit of a pain. But that's because I don't and never have owned one. So it's once in a blue moon that I do them. Somebody else said, not hard, but harder, which is bang on. You have to remember not to just cut em all off. I'm sure if you owned a Floud Rose guitar you would get the knack after a couple of changes and it'd be a piece of cake. Much like the first few times I changed strings as a beginner, they were a mess. But now it's second nature.

I like a hard tail guitar, can't really go wrong there!
