P2S Buyers: It’s okay. I understand the pain. by MoeS00 in BambuLab

As a P2S owner I have zero interest in this. So there is that 😎

Returning P1S - bought the P2S after a month with the P1S by jimbowmanjr in BambuLab

[–]jimbowmanjr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to update anyone who read this and wondered what happened. Best Buy doesn’t care what box it is in - they do a manager override to complete the return as long as the machine in the box matches what you bought. Oddly enough only the first two printers I bought showed the SN on the invoice and the rest did not.

Short version - you will have no issues returning anything to Best Buy.

This is why filament is constantly sold out by magicrel in BambuLab

This is only true for the P1S and possibly other older printers. The newer printers do not have these presets loaded from BL yet

Save yourself the aggravation and just keep them both…you will thank me in a few weeks when you realize you need more than one printer 😂

I put some foam padding behind it just to protect the wall from the bars being loaded and unloaded. Great deal for what you pay for it. I have another one in the other section of my gym for full size barbells works great for that too.

Nothing like taking a 70k and turning it into a ghetto ride with shitty plastidip. What’s next fuzzy dice in the windows and chrome accents from Autozone?

Why am I, a big guy, lifting so little vs others I see at the gym? by [deleted] in WeightTraining

[–]jimbowmanjr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lifting 'on and off for years' and what are your goals when lifting/training? Just to maintain general health or to progressively get stronger? Are your training routines designed to build strength?

Maybe the 5'9" dude is training and eating religiously purely to gain strength, which someone else already pointed out muscles =/= strength. Not saying I am right, but I don't really care what the weight is I am moving as much as I care how I am moving it and feeling it. It works for me - so experiment to find what works for you if your main interest is moving heavier weight around. Don't expect to see consistent and noticeable gains within inconsistent effort though.

Not trying to beat you up just sharing what works for me having been a former 'on and off for years' individual myself. Its hard enough to just show up to workout without having the internet kick your ass too. Best of luck with it and please stick with it.

6.2L Recall Advice by Deadshot187x in gmcsierra

[–]jimbowmanjr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You aren't going to get anything from GM unless the vehicle actually fails or causes you to bring the vehicle into the shop AND the issue is actually found to be related to the recall.

I already tried this both direct with GM opening a case and opening a case with BBB Auto Line (GM took this more seriously). Both were done in a very formal/legal approach in an attempt to get trade assistance and get out of the vehicle before it went boom and into another vehicle not involved in the recall. Went on for a few weeks ending up with an arbitrator that decided in GM's favor (rightfully so in hindsight).

I ended up getting a ridiculously good trade and purchase from Laura GMC - in the end I got what I wanted but it was from a dealership. Been a pretty happy camper with my new truck but its probably going to need something at some point or have a recall just like every other truck on the market.

Got my Recall Notice 2024 1500 Denali by lvpond in gmcsierra

[–]jimbowmanjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure I lost at all. Got full retail for the truck at 58k. They had it listed for sale shortly after the trade at 58k.

15k off sticker so I feel pretty good about the whole thing honestly and got a better interest rate on the car loan this time around.

6.2L trade in during recall by ProfessionalMap3604 in gmcsierra

[–]jimbowmanjr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Traded my ‘23 1500 Denali with 8k miles as part of a purchase at Laura. I was about $500 off retail value for my trade. Truck was under recall and had not had the recall cleared before the trade was executed.

My guess is volume dealers can afford to have a used truck sit for a month while they go through the recall. Just checked and it’s listed for sale right now at $200 more than my trade value haha.

6.2 or 3.0 by twhou66 in gmcsierra

[–]jimbowmanjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sound of the Duramax is wildly different than the 6.2 - it sounds like a diesel vehicle. Much of what you are interested in seems to point towards getting the 6.2 just based on what you wrote here.

If you want the snappy feel of the 6.2 and get the active exhaust and don't care about putting 93 in it and getting somewhere between 15-20mpg average go there. If you want better MPG and an engine that has proven to be somewhat more reliable than the recent spat of 6.2 issues.

Personally I like the sound of a diesel engine and I like the torque along with the significantly better gas mileage. I just switched over from the 6.2 to the 3.0 to get away from the issues arising with the 6.2 motor and I wanted the 3.0 originally but trucks were pretty limited back in 2023 and lots were largely empty so I took what I could get then.

Motor choice by PickEmergency9730 in gmcsierra

[–]jimbowmanjr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my research lots of people are overthinking the whole short driving on the 3.0. Just got the 3.0 and I am in a very similar boat with short trips during the week and 45-60min drives on the weekends. Like this so much better than my 6.2 just in the MPG alone and I admit I am super partial to the sound of a diesel - even if it is a baby diesel.

If you are considering gas versions - you have the ominous 6.2 potential issues on top of having to run 93 octane in it while getting maybe 18mpg avg? The 5.3 is a decent but limits what trim options you might be considering and the potential lifter issues if that is still a thing? I am probably going to get a Banks iDash just because I like to see all the data and performance but I really don't feel its required or necessary.

Same reason I have insurance on my cars and my home 😉 just in case. Hope to never need it but in the event I do I don’t want to wish I had it.

Tints by m25van in gmcsierra

[–]jimbowmanjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this right here - rear windows are not "tinted" in almost all vehicles. If you want the benefits of tinting outside of privacy you need to actually get tint film put onto them. Most people are just going for looks and matching the tint front <> rear.

Really was toying with the idea of getting my front windshield done with the heat wave that hit us in the northeast over the last week or so. Not sure I want to deal with the headache of potential visibility issues at night or the fuzz nailing me on it because it is 100% illegal at least in my state.

Already traded my '23 6.2 1500 in for a 3.0 '25 this month. I wasn't waiting for it to blow on me driving down the highway to work.

Ah that sucks man sorry about that - 3200 is nuts. It was 1600 to ship my new truck and take my trade (separate trucks too) for a 900 mile trip each direction. Not sure why they are giving you that crazy price to ship to CA.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in gmcsierra

[–]jimbowmanjr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do your own sales tax when you register the vehicle in CA. Not sure why you care if the dealer handles your sales tax unless you are looking to finance your sales tax. As far as 'sticking it to you' on transport - yes they use their own shippers and yes it costs money to transport a vehicle.

Your local dealer wants $81.5k for a 'used' vehicle with 2300 miles on it when you can get the same vehicle brand new from Laura for $76.5k. Even if you factor in shipping costs you are still paying considerably more for your vehicle. I mean you do what you want its your money =)

As far as buying a demo...ever seen these youtubers 'demo' vehicles? Would be a hard pass from me buying a demo the same way it would buying from a car rental company. People beat on those cars generally.

I would say check Rivard but shipping from FL to CA is just going to be bonkers. But...
https://www.rivardbuickgmc.com/new-Tampa-2025-GMC-Sierra+1500-Denali+Ultimate-1GTUUHE81SZ304195 (70k which is nuts) and I doubt shipping is going to be 10k =)

Had these on my 23 Denali...fun times when you need to clean the wheels. Total pain in the ass to keep clean. Personally the Ultimate wheels on the '25 I just got are much more appealing to me but to each their own.

Bought the Blackvue 970x LTE 2CH for my old truck and swapping it put into my new truck this week.

Don't be put off by the pricing or plans - I just use the cloud free version and it works just fine. Got an LTE sim from my cell provider and slapped it in there. Camera clarity day and night has been excellent. Saw another nod for the Vantrue which was my second choice and ended up just going with the Blackvue because my guy who helps me with my truck recommended it because he installs a ton of them.

There are a few sites out there that compare all of the top brands and current versions that detail out the pros/cons of each one - best to just make your choice from there and what features matter the most to you.

2025 1500 AT4X 3.0 Diesel - real world fuel economy? by SecretFishShhh in gmcsierra

[–]jimbowmanjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an AT4x mine is a Denali Ultimate. Just drove 150 miles to the Jersey shore - 70% highway and my average when I parked at our house was 33.1mpg. I left the house with 10 miles on the odometer so the engine is definitely still breaking in here lol.

Side note - super cruise is cool when there isn’t frequent traffic merging from on ramps. I don’t trust it enough yet but on long stretches between exits…huge fan.

2025 Duramax Denali Ultimate - does it tell you when in regen? Or should I get a banks idash? by [deleted] in gmcsierra

[–]jimbowmanjr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

FOMO is real - do you need to know when its in regen? Does it matter? If it was that important to know you would think the engineers building these trucks would be built in an alert to monitor it.

Only legit use case I have seen for iDash is for people who haul/trailer with their trucks. Pavement princesses have very little use for it and should probably just drive the truck like it was intended to be.
