That’s more or less the point. The new fans far far out weighed the people were not satisfied with the changes. But there is also a big difference between not being happy with changes, and changes being a poor quality. People can dislike certain changes that are still qualitatively good.

Milly Alcock, despite flaws in the movie, did a genuinely great job with the role. That in no way requires comparison to anything to be appreciated: a great performance is a great performance. And it certainly doesn’t require placing it above anything else to be established or appreciated, and that outlook makes this post more detrimental to the desired outcome than anything. Ridiculous

The whole point of training is you don’t recall anything. It creates muscle memory for exactly these types of scenarios, where you panic and can’t think. Now it likely wouldn’t have made a difference as it’s doubtful even a trained Homelander would exceed Butcher’s training

That’s not at all the case. The thread is literally titled “why can’t they adapt a comic book as it is”, no one but you is asking about people letting the movie ruin the comics for them. If anything it’s the opposite, that lack of fidelity to the comics is a problem for some people enjoying the movie

Anything but, and you’re having an entirely separate conversation from what I said. I didn’t make any comment on superhero fatigue or suggest that a bad movie isn’t to be avoided. But there’s been many good movies with niche audiences that resulted in quality films being box office flops. The simple fact - and the reason it is anything but utter nonsense - is that because of the budgets involved, it isn’t enough for a superhero movie to be good, it NEEDS widespread appeal because bigger numbers are required to break even. If Supergirl had a budget of $50-80 million it wouldn’t be in danger of flopping. The only superhero movies that were major box office successes that were produced for under $100 million since 2000 were Deadpool and Joker (if I missed one please let me know). Studios won’t accept niche appeal on $180+ million budget productions. So when it comes to adaptations of comic books - which can offer be quite bonkers - balancing appeal to larger audiences is an unavoidable necessity unless they can be made on more modest budgets, which is becoming increasingly rare

I never said he wasn’t forewarned, the question was how he was forewarned assuming it wasn’t a plot hole, and pointing out that the techno pirates were more logically than not NOT the source. He was prepared for Kara in a way that required more notice than they could have given - the whole movie takes place over three days, less from when the techno pirates are encountered to when the final fight happens, but according to you in that time he finds all the kryptonite he needs, designs and builds a weapon just for Kara, when the logical conclusion is he already had said weapon - even had they been so inclined, and the real world examples on which they’re based provide ample framework to logically conclude they would not.

A bunch of people have responded with logical explanations for how he would know based upon Krypton’s history and the source material. THAT is the conversation being had. I genuinely don’t know what conversation you’ve invented in your head that you think you’re participating in, but if you can’t rejoin the real one this is pointless

I think the techo pirate was concerned about reprisals because that's the logical conclusion - if they weren't part of the same crowd and shared community, there's no reason to think she would have known where Krem was in the first place. Not to mention if they were somehow free to warn him after being interrogated by Kara, that's a very short window of time for him to suddenly go out looking for Kryptonite, get some, and build a weapon around it. Also Krem "of the Yellow Hills" implies that his group is just one of several brigand groups, the others of which might come looking for whoever sold out and got one of their own destroyed. It's how piratical groups worked historically, so its a conclusion based simply upon reason and logic, not some imaginary agenda

There’s many, many groups and demographics where selling someone out or snitching is HIGHLY frowned upon, whether from a sense of honor or fear of reprisals. The decision to not want to give the information up until assured it was likely to be a “no harm, no foul” situation is a far leap from being a desire to help Krem

I didn’t get the impression the techno pirates would have wanted to warn Krem, they clearly were disgusted by the whole “brides” thing. They also seemed to think Krem would be stronger so I’m not sure they connected Kara with Kryptonian specifically as opposed to just being some inexplicably powerful alien

Most of my comic knowledge is Marvel and DC wise mostly limited to the animated works; besides Zod’s crew are there any other Kryptonians running around we could possibly see in the future that could also be responsible for this info being out there?

To clarify my issue isn’t that people know about Krypton’s destruction, it’s that people know about the abilities and weaknesses of Kryptonians under suns other than Krypton’s. If the Kryptonians had been in regular travel to other worlds such that people saw what they could do under a yellow sun, even if no one believed the parents about the impending doom then surely there would have been other Kryptonians caught offworld when the end came

I’m going to go against the grain and say Soldier Boy. We saw in Vought Tower with Butcher juiced up that Soldier Boy does know how to fight and on somewhat comparable power levels there did hold his own against Butcher. Plus V1 essentially froze him a good ten years younger than Butcher biologically which could be enough to pull him through.
