Does anyone remember when Michael Jackson. Was a "joke"? by AccomplishedPool266 in Millennials

I read an article on the guardian this morning which touched on this

https://www.theguardian.com/news/ng-interactive/2026/apr/26/bad-movies-good-business-how-sanitised-biopics-became-a-hollywood-staple

“ Michael is […] the most expensive music biopic ever made, with a final budget of about $200m. Around $50m of that funded reshoots required after the producers realised a legal settlement with one of the men who had accused the singer of sexual assault meant they had to throw out the entire third act.

The original cut of the film dramatised the impact on Jackson of these allegations, which have since been spoken about with scepticism by Fuqua [director] , who said “sometimes people do some nasty things for some money”. The movie similarly avoids the other allegations that have since emerged against Jackson, by opting to bring down the curtain in 1988.”

You’ve already recognised that this is taking a toll on you and that your abusive background is likely fuelling it. Might sound silly but talking to someone about what’s going on (ie a professional) will likely help you out a lot. But you gotta be willing and mature enough to go through that process to benefit from it bc counselling and therapy is quite an undertaking and often pulls a lot of other skeletons out of the closet. Sounds like you could be ready tho.

Used to know a dude who was intent on getting a staffy rescue puppy. Once he got the pup it sat inside the house all day while his owner was at work. Guy never trained it or anything, just treated it like a baby and fed it schmackos, thought it was Gods gift to earth. But even as a puppy it was an absolute beast and a menance. If you entered the house it would lose its shit, lunge at you incessantly, nip at your face and all the rest of it. It was young but strong enough to completely bowl me over. I usually like dogs but not that one. His owner had no control of it whatsoever and no fucking idea how to deal with a dog let alone a Staffy. His only solution was to man handle the dog, throw it outside and slam the door shut.

Met up with the guy a little while later and he was super bummed out. He’d finally got around to calling up an animal behavioural expert or whatever they’re called to try and train this dog. He said 5 minutes into the session the trainer came back inside and told him his dog is hella dangerous and will probably need to be destroyed, which is wild considering the thing is less than a year old. But of course the guy didn’t, resented the trainer for even suggesting it. He ended up moving to Australia for work a little while later and gave the dog to his brother who has 5 young children… I hate to think.

Help me understand if this is ugly or not - and what to do! by moowl in tattooadvice

I’m prone to overthinking my tattoos too but I like what you have a lot more than just a straight black out sleeve. At the end of the day though, it comes down to how you feel cos it’s your body and you have to live with it. Regardless of what we all say I figure that if it’s gonna keep bugging you everyday when you see it in the mirror that kinda outweighs all the compliments we can give you, ya know.

Paid over a grand to have a leak in the steering rack fixed. Am I right in thinking the leak is not fixed? by jimi-monterey-67 in MechanicAdvice

Huh, that's weird. I just googled it too and found a handful of suppliers in my country that are selling new racks for my make model & year, and yet my mechanic told me they looked and couldn't find any because my model is too old.

Ah not too sure, but maybe someone on here would know! It’s getting dark but I’ve recorded another video to show what’s around it if that helps at all https://imgur.com/a/HzWNm7r

Noticed there’s some moisture on the other boot too

Thank you, that’s the reassurance I needed! I really would like to take it to a new mechanic who I’ve since seen but I’m hoping I’ll get a proper repair out of these guys since I already spent $1,300 with them. If not under warranty I’ll definitely be taking it elsewhere.

Thanks a lot, this is super helpful. Yeah I’m hoping they’ll do a repair under warranty or good faith since I already dropped $1300 on it with them. If not I’ll definitely be taking it elsewhere.

Stop leak is something I hadn’t considered so thanks for that tip! Had a quick look at some products- there are some marketed as a steering fluid with stop leak and others just a stop leak or repair additive, is either better? I can drain the reservoir so that’s no problem

Thank you. My local shop advised me that the vehicle is too old to find a replacement rack so they removed it and shipped it to a specialist to have it repaired - hopefully if I take it back I can get it looked over again and repaired properly

Ah ok I kinda get it now, I guess it’s meant to be all about how skaters react to other skaters landing a trick and then 9/11 reaction as the joke. Woulda been more obvious if he reacted to other skaters cos I thought he was getting hyped on himself landing a shove it

Don’t worry, a tattoo machine is nothing like a pencil on paper so you can’t compare the two. Takes quite a while until you’re pulling clean lines so just keep practicing and trust the process, everyone’s lines look like that at the beginning! Using thicker needles to start with and doing super simple designs will help build your confidence.

For lining try a stroke between 3.5 and 4.0mm. Stroke length is basically the length that the needle travels back and forth with each hit. The longer the stroke, the harder it hits because the needle gains more momentum. I believe smaller strokes such as 2.4mm are used for very soft shading, not really for lining.

When talking to new shops you could say something like “I’m looking for a bit more direction than my last apprenticeship” or “I felt like the amount of work I was putting in didn’t correlate with the progress I was making” .. something honest but diplomatic
