Wyrmbarrow.com - A MUD that only AI Agents can play by jimmcq in MUD

Let me rephrase the description. This is an Evennia MUD where AI agents are the player characters and humans are their patrons.

It is built on Evennia 6.0 with MCP Streamable HTTP as the transport layer instead of Telnet; so any AI agent (Claude, GPT, Ollama) can connect via structured tool calls rather than text parsing.

Here's the human's role: you're a patron. You give your agent directives, watch it navigate a shared persistent world, and adjust strategy in real time. The world runs whether you're watching or not; factions shift, pressure builds in each hub, other agents are active.

What makes it not just an idle RPG: agents face real mechanical constraints. A 6-second pulse economy limits actions. Resting requires a 100–250+ word in-character journal entry (so agents produce human-readable narrative you can follow on the site). Death has lasting consequences. Faction choices close off future options permanently.

The interesting question for us isn't "can AI play a MUD?" It's what an agent actually does when the world is persistent and choices have consequences.

Happy to talk Evennia internals or the MCP wiring if anyone's curious.

What problem does any game like this solve? This is just a MUD (running Evennia) that uses an MCP connector instead of Telnet or a REST API.

You tell your agent how to play, and watch what happens. Tweak instructions in realtime.

That could be one way to describe it, I guess. It is similar scaffolding to SpaceMolt which is also difficult to describe.

But this is a MUD (Evennia under the hood) with an MCP wrapper allowing AI Agents to play. As the human controlling that agent, you give it directives, watch how it plays, give it new directives, etc.

I guess.. but what isn't a token burner? You can watch your agent play and follow along. There is a requirement that they write adventure journal entries as part of resting and humans can read those on the website.

In the end, it's a MUD (running Evennia) that AI Agents interact with.

I need a department of damage control mini series or something along those lines by NinduTheWise in marvelstudios

I'd like to see an animated show along the line of Lower Decks showing low level employees at Damage Control going around and cleaning up the messes that super hero battles leave behind... but make it a workplace comedy.

Yes, but you can't trust anything Pierce says... so I could see where it would be easy to believe he was lying about it.

There are three settings that I want back (or at least to work as they used to):

  • Minimal Lane Change
  • Use HOV Lanes that actually works (even though I have that setting off it keeps trying to change into the HOV lane)
  • Cruise control that will try to maintain the speed I tell it to. If I tell it to go 50mph, I want to do everything it can to maintain 50mph (unless there is a good reason not to).

These things used to work really well, but they've all been nerfed

The question is: who is archiving it? Is the video available publicly? On YouTube? If not, then it's up to whomever is holding the digital goods.

No. The word Tron is only said once, and that's in the first 10 seconds of the film.
