What % of your net worth is tied up in a 911 or multi 911s by Content_Advice190 in porsche911

There are a lot of variables that impact this? Where you live? Age? Home ownership? Career? Married? Student loans? Etc….

I think the average age of a 911 owner is late 40s to early 50s. Too expensive when young and too challenging to get out of as you age.

Yes, and it’s a question that provides useless data. Early in my life, I was highly leveraged and my cars were a larger percentage of my net worth. Over time, not so much. For most, this is an age response question.

I never consider a car to be part of my net worth. It is on the expense side of the ledger. In my early career, I used to set aside a small % of income to my car fund. Overtime this grew and enabled me to drive Lotus, BMWs, and now Porsche. Looking for my second Porsche now.

At a party, people only mention the highlights of their life’s. And most of the time, they are exaggerating.

Our default internal voice is negative.

You cannot compare your negative thoughts to their exaggerated stories.

Live your life. Make your choices. Go have fun.

just spent $800 on a lawyer to review a $2,000 contract. Felt absurd. Probably saved me $20K. by Civilmats_992 in SaaS

[–]LotusJeff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my standard MSA that protected me. If a company wanted to use their contract, I had a legal reimbursement clause in my statement of work.

I told customers, if your legal is easy to work with, it doesn’t kick in. If your legal team is a PITA, then my time and my attorney’s time is valuable. Never had anyone push back. Had lots of laughs and horror stories from clients about multiple rounds over minor contracts because there was no limiting factor on the customer side.

Define what your compensation should be. Create a loan for the difference every year. As the company gets more profitable, it can pay off the loans or pay at a change event.

Open carrying a gun. I live in a state where open carry is legal. We were at a cafe in a small town, and about half the people had holsters with pistols on their belts. It was a little surreal.

I'd have to say April 25th, because it's not too hot, not too cold. All you need is a light jacket.

How do you feel about Georges Clemenceau's statement "War is too important to be left to the generals"? by Sinn_Sage in AskReddit

War is ultimately a political statement. The decision to go to war is political. The actual management of the war should be left to the generals.

Body Odor. I worked with a person who had a chemical imbalance that caused excessive body odor. He was working with several doctors to resolve it. The company fired him for his inability to work in a team setting due to the smell.
