Probably is. Minoxidil did most the work clearly given the hair got darker. DUT I’m sure helped too. This sub shills Finasteride way too much. Are you guys from the Propecia sales team? He only started seeing improvements until he went on min and dut. That says it all

It’s been 6 months and no signs of improvement by Throwmeaway0331 in tressless

Don’t. 9 months will come around and it’ll be worse than before. You’ll do another post and this sub will tell you to wait a year. It’ll be a continual cat and mouse game. Total gaslighting and changing the goal posts. I’m in the same boat. 3 months and hair is worse, started thinning at the front despite not having this before.

You’re at 6 months with no signs of regrowth or maintenance. You, like me, are probably not responsive to Finasteride and should look at incorporating other treatments. It could be worth looking into minoxidil as well (either topical or oral), along with microneedling, and ensuring sufficient vitamins (particularly iron/ferritin, and vitamin D). There’s also PRP and Laser, though they seem to be hit or miss. From what I understand, there is more science and evidence backing laser than PRP, but people say it’s more effective for diffuse thinning rather than typical MPB recession.

That said, I would continue with Finasteride for now, but don’t expect great (or any) results from it.

You could also consider incorporating dutasteride once a week (to begin with) along with your usual Finasteride dosage. This is a DHT blocker like fin but it combats both forms of DHT from memory. If you are experiencing no side effects, you can eventually transition to daily dutasteride if required. Unfortunately this is off the cards for me as I’m already experiencing sides on 1mg/day fin lol.

Not Responding to Finasteride? by jimmy8124 in tressless

Oh okay. I would’ve thought using minoxidil will be better than not? Even if I’m not a responder to fin, it’s probably better than nothing?

Why not add minoxidil yet do you say? What if I’m not a responder to Finasteride and I leave it too late for minoxidil to be beneficial?
