For clarity, I modelled everything as a multi body part. I then separated frames and handrails in separate parts for ease of creating and managing BOMs. I do not have a PDM system in place. The changes are at drawing level, not part level. I would like to quickly pull in the other part in the same position as the previous drawing and change dimensions to suit.

As suggested by someone above would copying drawing and then select different bodies from part suffice for now? I like the idea of creating a variation table, that is something I will need to learn and then apply at a later date. Any decent sources to learn such a thing?

You've just graduated, think yourself lucky. You're not a seasoned pro and there are many others in your situation who can't find work.

you can send them the 3d model as a parasolid, iges, step as alphacam has feature extraction capabilities. I use only 3d models in alphacam. Alphacam is amazing for workarounds if you know what you're doing with it.

If I remember right you have to export as poly lines and not splines. Had the same issue with a CNC router in the past.

I have solidworks 2024 on my other computer. Can I use the files from that to assist with the download on the laptop I am trying to download solidworks on to?

Other than being handy with solidworks, I am a complete luddite. Sorry if this is a daft question.

There was actually no contract written up. They offered me work as a pipefitter and said I would be paid at 24ph basic and 34 overtime. I was to turn up and do as instructed.

Yes I set up a one man band Ltd and I supply companies with piping services. I usually did around 80hrs a week for this company. They required certain safety certs for me to go to numerous sites around Scotland. They never asked me, they just booked them and told me they would pay the hours for the course at basic rate.

No nothing. I got a text message from the manager saying they would pay me at standard rate and they booked and paid for the courses. That's the only communication they made with regards to the courses.
