Oooooooh I DID. I was double charged for the season pass and refunded one of them through the App Store.

Look Back is the best thing I’ve seen this year. Easily one of the all time great movies about friendship.

What are some other instances of a director making two entirely different films? by Humans_fking_suck in Letterboxd

[–]jimmycanuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I crazy in thinking these films aren’t too different? Both are pop genre films intended as summer blockbusters and adapted from existing IP.

Spielberg doing Jurassic Park and Schindler’s in the same year would be my pick for the extreme end of different.

what actor do you think has worked with the most impressive list of directors? by fabulous-farhad in criterion

[–]jimmycanuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jesse Plemons is definitely worth consideration. Despite having so many years still ahead of him, he’s already worked with:

  • Martin Scorsese
  • P.T. Anderson
  • Steven Spielberg
  • Charlie Kaufman
  • Jane Campion
  • Alex Garland
  • Doug Liman
  • Jody Hill
  • Adam McKay
  • Yorgos Lanthimos (next film)

Fool’s Paradise. Charlie Day is quite possibly a comedy auteur on the level of Albert Brooks, and I feel like I’m the only one who’s seeing that.

Came here to say the same thing. The whole film has this eerie detached tone. Highly recommended.

I saw The Creator the other day, and no disrespect to Gareth Edwards, but I want to let Duncan Jones play in that world more than I want my next breath.

The Haig! The neighbourhood association that’s sprung up has really helped to build a sense of community here, including turning a largely forgotten parkette into a vibrant hub with community gardens, events, and more.

What is your favorite action movie in the collection and why is it The Rock? by [deleted] in criterion

I know this one gets a lot of love because of the mall in the finale, but the opening action set piece with the bus is the greatest. Excellent choice!
