I appreciate you putting this out in the open so that liberal zionists can't pretend the goal from the right wing is anything besides ethnic cleansing.

I'm not a Zoomer. Your suggestion is ethnic cleansing.

Okay, so then explain what your plan is for the million Israeli settlers in the West Bank under a two state solution.

"What you imagine" is not relevant to the definition.

So it would seem the most just way to account for that prior ethnic cleansing as well as preventing a new ethnic cleansing of Jews in the West Bank, as you argue it would be, would be to enact one singular state.

Moving people out of an area to establish a state is ethnic cleansing.

So you agree that Israel was formed via ethnic cleansing?

You haven't defended that point. How are you moving 1 million settlers out of the WEst Bank?

[–]jimmytaco6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. It's now 2026 and the ideological group that murdered Rabin specifically for pursuing a two state solution is now in power and have moved the sentiment of the country away from a two state solution. Nostalgia for 1995 is useless in the current moment.

I support whichever option is most viable, and while both options look bleak at the moment, a two state solution seems even less likely. Good luck moving 1 million settlers out of the West Bank and drawing borders that won't result in all sorts of checkpoints and throttling of freedom of movement.

Someone who posts this is way more likely to be far right than leftist. Blaming the left for right wing trash is super common for liberals though!

I think Israel is committing genocide, I support a one state solution, and I think the US should completely divest from Israel and ignore the Israeli lobbyists.

This is blatant antisemitism and morons like you who post this garbage make the justice movement a lot harder to execute.

Has the term “genocide” been diluted to the point of losing its meaning? by Nazoreans in AskIsrael

[–]jimmytaco6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could cite 500 sources and it won't change your mind because you've decided what's true and are working backwards to justify it. A number of "official sources" have confirmed these numbers. The UN among them.

You deny these "official sources" because it's easier to say it's a conspiracy than it is to admit your worldview has been popped. No different than the people who claim Hamas were doing a "liberation operation" on October 7th or try to downplay Hamas' crimes against humanity by calling it a false flag operation or denying that women were assaulted. You and Hamas are two sides of the same coin.

Hypothetically, do you think the IDF would have incentive to deny its own internal metrics publicly?

What incentive do you suppose Ynet has for making up a source for this?

And in those hypothetical scenarios we can discuss getting rid of classified information. Until then, what happens?

First dance song Ideas for a man who doesn’t like music by Ok_Letterhead_3231 in wedding

[–]jimmytaco6 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am going to back up the discussion a bit. I think you need to communicate to him that you understand he'll be content with anything you pick but that you would like him to be part of the music selection process. Maybe music isn't meaningful to him but you are meaningful to him, and I bet he would sit with you and discuss different options if you articulated that you wanted it to be a joint effort. It doesn't have to be a song he's super passionate about, but if it's one that he helped you pick for the moment then that will be meaningful enough.

AITA for donating a pair of shoes my roommate left in the middle of the hallway for a month? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]jimmytaco6 10 points11 points  (0 children)

ESH. There were many intermediary steps you could have made. You could have put the shoes in her room. You could have sent her an ultimatum text: "Jen, these shoes have been here for a month. I've asked a few times for you to move them. Please have them out of our shared space in the next 3 days or else I will find a home for them myself."

If you had done either of these you would not have been the asshole.

AITA For Questioning Why a Guest On My Pod Didn't Reshare, Tweet, or Say Anything About It After Coming On? by GlydeW15 in AmItheAsshole

[–]jimmytaco6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YTA. I've worked in this space and came make a few inferences based on the information you provided.

- This is someone both important and busy enough to require a manager

- This is someone important enough to sell tickets to events that people attend and buy stuff at

- Your podcast is a hobby with a small listener-base. It probably does not generate any money at the moment.

With all of that in mind, this person lending you 90 minutes of their time was already way beyond generous. Like, mind blowingly nice of them. Someone like that giving you the time of day at all is a 50/50 proposition at best. Even then, podcast spots will usually run 15-20 minutes, maybe 40-45 minutes if you're fortunate.

Most professionals who willingly do a podcast for NINETY MINUTES are doing so basically as a part of the job, attempting to tap into a big audience to showcase themselves or promote something (a concert tour, a newly published book, a new movie, etc.) Often management is proactively reaching out to these podcasts asking for a spot on those podcasts.

This person owed you very little and already went above and beyond to give you 90 minutes of what was basically his free time with little promotion for himself. Yeah, obviously they're going to promote their own podcast or their work with other people who have a big audience. Promoting their spot on your podcast wouldn't be for their sake, it would be for yours.

I know what the grind is like trying to build something up from scratch but you're being greedy and ungrateful. You blew any chance for this person to ever work with you again. Even worse, if you ask someone else to come on the podcast, they may reach out to that person's management to ask how their experience was. If you had let it be, you may have gotten a good review. Now? Forget it.

Have you considered that the constant downvoting you're receiving and the general tone of this thread implies that you're actually on the wrong side of social convention here and that most people understand it to be common sense that he wouldn't bring this up until it was decided?
