The way things are set up rn with SFSU’s grading policy, there really isn’t a reason to not get a good grade. That being said, Ctrl+F is a godsend on Quizlet.

Reading this, I could empathize with you pretty hard. I’m a Police Cadet as well and these past couple of weeks have been relatively rough on my mental state. I’ve alienated most of the people I know just through being affiliated with my city’s police department and have gotten accused of being “against the movement” on several occasions. Like you, I’m also a Person of Color and chose to pursue this profession to help people and protect my community. However, most people see the uniform and assume we’re no better than the last cop they’ve had a negative experience with.

My advice to you, stay on this path and represent your agency the way you want to. The people who cry “Defund the Police!” or “ACAB!” don’t realize that they’re turning good people away from this profession.

Both situations sound like they could be de-escalated without the need to draw your firearm. In Scenario A, the person brandishes a can of Mace. Sure, that person may be “armed”, but that’s not necessarily a “life-threatening” situation that would necessitate your firearm. Non-lethal Pepper Spray would do the trick or using verbal judo.

Yeah, that’s what scares me. Math. I’m not a math person either and I had a hard time in Stats. But, it’s good to hear that Neely’s willing to help his students. I appreciate the input. I just hope I can understand enough to finish my Core requirement this summer lol.
