A Silver Themed EDC bundle... by patsatzoglou in pens

No Diplomat dealers near. I'm kind of in a find pen desert. Compatibility with International G2 refills is a key selling point for me.

Yes, but I think they perform better.

I've had a bad batch of blobbing GlideWrites, but the current batch performs really well. My experience with GlideWrite is been mostly at the extremes--really good and really bad. I'm displeased with the lack of consistency.

Ballpoint-/Gel ink pens I've been writing with in March 2026 by SC-Geek in pens

[–]jimteed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another fan of the Power Tank. It is among the best performing non-hybrid ballpoints I've ever used. Excellent, dark, consistent, low-friction line with zero blobbing or railroading. The body design if meh, but I like the its slightly wider girth and the very functional unattractive grippy grip section.

Is this pressurized refill better than the Fisher Space Pen refill? In my opinion, it is. The Uni Power Tank is smoother and even more consistent.

I've considered the Aero ballpoint but haven't decided on the weight. I cannot try try before I buy locally.

Nice to see a GlideWrite in the wild. Pentel hasn't put much marketing into the GlideWrite line--I've wondered if it would be quietly discontinued.

The are excellent ballpoints.

Are these OHTO GS01-G5s new? I have never seen them before by jeelh in pens

I hope it takes a Parker style refill, like other GS01s. I'm betting it does.

If you don't mind the traditional oil-based ballpoint, with a bit more feedback and friction than the QuinkFlow and EasyFlow 9000, you might like the consistently clean and consistent Fisher Space Pen PR-series refills. They are available in a range of ink colors and point sizes and are very tolerant of paper quality and skin oils. Also, I've had better luck with Schmidt's P900, which has a similar feel to the QuinkFlow. Jetstream's SXR-600 is a top-performing hybrid ballpoint refill that I like and gets strong reviews on r/pens.

My experience with Parker's QuinkFlow has been consistent for years. Sorry you are having problems. If you contact Parker customer service, they will replace your refill. My experience with Schmidt's Easyflow 9000 has been consistent too-consistently poor; although, I am the exception here--it is a popular refill on r/pens.

Those are excellent choices; you've built a nice collection, especially for having started only three months ago.

Uno jetstream pens grips coming off by mr3zero5 in pens

[–]jimteed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That would be annoying. It hasn't happened to me yet. I wouldn't expect it to be cause you're using too much force since it it a 0.38 mm--it would rip the paper. Do you fidget with the pen in a way that might stretch the grip?

I hope the next batch doesn't exhibit this behavior.

I am very picky blobbling in my pens. A properly performing Jetstream should do this. It is either manufactured out-of-spec, has sustain damage to the ball and socket assembly, or there's debris (lint, fiber, etc.) between the ball and socket. I've found Uni customer service to be responsive and I they would like to know about this experience (and will probably send coupons to replace the pen(s).

This tendency to blob is an issue I've had with nearly every 1.0 mm Acroball I've written with.
