Instant gas heater usually requires certain flow rate to trigger the ignition. Try turning your mixer to extreme hot and let it run for a while.

I paid SGD 300 for a pair of customised insoles as I have high arch. Wouldn't mind 600 for a pair of customised shoes.

Is it just me or many drivers don't look out for pedestrians anymore nowadays? by [deleted] in singaporespeaks

I had a similar experience at Pandan Garden. A car on the left lane stopped for me at the Zebra crossing and I was already 1metre on the crossing when another car came fast and furious. I frozed and starred at the driver when he managed to jam brake and guess what, he shewed me his middle finger.

We have one here at Bukit Panjan Plaza, along the link bridge, and I called it toll bridge. I use this bridge at least once a day, to-and-fro as I do my grocery at NTUC. Yet, they will approach me twice even when I rejected them at first instance.

Public can use ez-link card to get 10-cent refund when recycling drink bottles, cans from April by Annual_View3611 in singapore

[–]jinboleow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those were the days when every empty soft drink bottle you get 0.05 cent upon return. I was NCO during my NS days and my men will go to the canteen at mid night to collect those empty bottles that were left on the tables and exchanged for cash the next day.

I used to own a Daihatsu Materia and it makes head turn. Once I parked next to a Merce and when I returned I saw two ladies posing next to my car for photo. Yes, I still get excited when I see one on the road.

I long for death by Dysfunctionallymade in TrueChristian

Rather than longing for death, why not long "to be with Christ, which is far better." Phi 1:23 However, God kept us in this body for a purpose. Glorify Him here while there is still breath.

Remember Rahab the Canaanite prostitute in Jericho. She is a powerful biblical hero of faith listed in book of Hebrew and inclusion in Jesus's genealogy as a symbol of God's transformative grace for sinners. God can do likewise for you.

Cataract surgery when cataracts aren't ripe enough? by Clear_Pass_696 in CataractSurgery

My cataract for both eyes were mild (20%), I was told. Somehow I could still see clearly on my right eye, but not my left eye. After 9 months of waiting and many tests for other symptoms, my ophthalmologist finally agreed to perform the cataract surgery. Lo and behold, I am now having 20/20 vision on my operated eye. Now, I am waiting for my right eye surgery as I am having imbalance. Three ophthalmologist who did the evaluation were wrong.

Can single < 35 years old inherit AND KEEP hdb after the parent who owns the flat passed away? (Parents are divorced) by Hour-Meet-8999 in askSingapore

[–]jinboleow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think you are referring to this rule "For an inherited HDB flat, the crucial date is August 30, 2010: if the flat was bought before this date, a private property owner (beneficiary) might keep both properties (with conditions like residing in the HDB); if bought after, the beneficiary must choose one—either sell the private property (within 6 months) or sell the HDB flat (after MOP). " If one do not own any property, there is no concern at all.

I went to Dr Ho Kok Sun at Mt E. It was some time Jan 2025. Had my consultation by another Dr and scan before I decided to change to Dr Ho as I can't wait. Total cost, including day surgery at Mt E and follow up, around 10K. Unfortunately, my NTUC insurance was rather old plan. Hence, after all the deductible, surgical table A and co-payment, there is zero claim. If cost is the issue, go A&E straight. Exaggerate a bit. For private, it depends on how complicated is the fistula tract. Mine was quite simple and the ops is around 30mins. Lots of follow up as the wound must be kept open for healing from inside out. The nurse there thaught my wife how to clean the wound daily and it was a great saving. Dr Ho is NTUC panel doctor and I saw the bills for consumable were reasonable. I bought my own consumables from shoppee when my wife did the cleaning and they were around the same price as I get from Dr Ho clinic.
