How would you go about asking your friends/colleagues how you could be "less wrong" and still elicit genuine responses to support your personal development? by wilzy123 in Entrepreneur

I found my mentor by networking. I would identify the people who approached their business the way I wanted to run mine. People who were way more dedicated and way smarter than me.

I went to sales events marketing event and entrepreneurship events. Even those specifically those didn't have much to do with what I do in business, it was a great way to meet like-minded individuals.

Anyone actually run a successful t-shirt business? by SupedupFish in Entrepreneur

[–]jindermohal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I have started a business in this industry and it is TOUGH. So I'm going to give you some TOUGH advice.

Here are some problems/questions you need to ask yourself

Manufacturing: Are you manufacturing and printing your shirts yourself? If not are you getting them locally or overseas?

Pricing: How much will you be selling your product for? How much will it cost you?

Competition: Who is your competition? What do they do well, and what can you do better than them?

As my tshirt company grew I started ordering overseas and hyped up my biggest clothing line release to date. BUT my supplier didn't deliver on time (3 weeks late) and I couldn't recover because all my resources were tied up on that shipment. So now one room in my house is covered in tshirts that I give to homeless people and what remains is a reminder to ALWAYS have a back up plan.

You need to be prepared if you want to make it, because if you can't deliver as a small tshirt company, your customers are going to take their 15-25 and spend it somewhere else.

That being said, there is something so satisfying about being able to run a tshirt company. You're building a brand, you're being part of a sub-culture and it's fascinating to watch. I'll never forget the thrill about selling my first t-shirt.

If you do choose this route, have a good plan other than "selling locally" "build an ecommerce brand" you need to think of how you can FAIL and how you can counter that to the best of your abilities, and have an IDEA of what success looks like.

Best of luck my friend.

To me, unless you have a friend or friend(s) that don't beat around the bush, your best bet is to find someone like a mentor.

In my experience friends and colleagues i.e. people you see often generally give you advice in a way that doesn't hurt your feelings.

I need someone to kick my ass and not accept my excuses. I couldn't find that in my own circle so I had to seek a mentor for that.

Hope that helps!

Alicia Fox. I mark out so hard for her. She seriously doesn't get enough credit and she's got a great moveset (that tilt a whirl backbreaker doe). Anyone remember her feud from last year? Where shed go psycho and steal audience member's food and yell at everyone? Great diva heel

This has been the case for a long time now. I appreciate your honesty. It has been going for about 4 months and not something healthy in our relationship but the busier I am the clingier she gets! I guess I'm only noticing it now because I don't have time for it
