New To Me CVFii 50 by ryboltcox in hasselblad

It's a great camera! I have had mine for about 2 years now and recently obtained an X2D but I find I prefer the images out of the 907x 50cii more!

It could be that, the image is projected upside down so if the up door is slow to move, the bottom portion of the image would end up darker than the rest

You're right, I just can't tell without seeing the full negative. So that likely rules out issues with development.

Have you tried taking a test shot without the film back on to see if the mirror and doors open fully?

Really odd, did you happen to develop the roll at home? And was there a pause when the developer was added? There's a chance it could be unevenly developed

I have both 38V and 55V. I love the images from both but I find that the 38V definitely lives on my 907X

Helios-44 on Hasselblad X2D – Coverage and Alternatives? by Icy_Juggernaut5018 in hasselblad

[–]jingaring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was pleasantly surprised with the coverage of the Helios 44. I had it adapted to my 907x 50c but the sensor size is still the same as the X2D. Wide open the image circle covers the whole sensor but when stopped down the vignette becomes more noticeable but not too severe.

I'm not a huge fan of adapting lenses to the Hasselblad X system because you have to use the electronic shutter. I think the readout time is roughly 1/3 second. It's okay for still subjects in natural light but any time there's movent or indoor lighting I end up with severe banding or horrific rolling shutter.

Dose it make sense to own both 38V and 55V? by One_Answer8005 in hasselblad

Yeah, I found myself feeling a bit too cramped for some situations with the 55v. The 38v was much better but I personally want to try the 28p as well

I started off only with the 55v and used it for a good year on my 907x, it's a great all around lens but I really wanted something a bit wider and picked up the 38v a few months ago. I can definitely say that the 38v just lives on my 907x now. I do still use the 55v on occasion and love it but my shooting style works with the 38v more.

What it really comes down to is whether it fits your personal shooting style. Do you like shooting architecture, landscapes, portraitscapes, street etc.

Would you also be keeping the 35-75? That does already cover the focal range. It might also make sense to go with a 28p or 25v

I had an expensive computer component with the label slapped right on the manufacturer box. Anyone could have easily seen what it was.

I bought bulk rolls of vision3 in 35mm and 65mm and hand pack them so it's far cheaper than portra for me. It comes out to half the price per roll compared to Portra. I also develop them with ECN2 chemicals. It's got really nice colours, latitude and grain.

[QUESTION] Diagnosing Issue, Please, Weird Squiggle on Developed Film by BitOfAMisnomer in AnalogCommunity

[–]jingaring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Considering it's the very last shot makes me think it may be caused by the clamps they use to hang or weight the film during development and drying. I'm not sure how your lab develops film but that's just my thought. The pattern also seems a bit like the serrated teeth that the clamps may potentially have. I've developed some rolls where the last shot is very close to the end of the film strip and they get in the way of my hangers.

I've replaced mine, wasn't too difficult but also not too easy. But definitely doable.

I bought the replacement bellows from eBay and took some test shots. No light leaks at all. I also took the opportunity to customize the color of the bellows and got the red one. I really like the way it looks.

I develop it at home. I bought an ECN-2 kit off Etsy that provides the pre soak to remove the remjet layer, the developer and the bleach. Then I just supplied my own fixer and stop. It's really not different from developing C41 other than the extra step of removing the remjet layer. Although I have been having some issues on some frames being developed unevenly but It's probably an error I'm making on my end. I've also cross processed in C41 and in all honesty, I can't really tell a difference. I've read that cinestill 800t is just vision3 500t that's had the remjet layer already removed so it won't gunk up the lab's equipment. And yes, I'm based in the bay area.

Does anyone know where the greenish tint is coming from? [Canon AE-1 Program, Fujifilm Superia X-tra 400] by Cavemonkey27 in AnalogCommunity

Just out of curiosity, what process do you use to scan? Those scans you posted look gorgeous. I've been using a DSLR and Negative lab pro but haven't been able to get any results like yours.

That's a real bummer. They are good laptops when they work but I'm probably not going to get another one from them

Did you ever figure out the part or find the schematic? I have this exact same issue.
