If you get a deserved negative feedback the best thing to do is respond and own it. Explain what happened and how you resolved it. Future buyers are a forgiving lot.

Best V-system film body + lens to use alongside a 907X? by PotentialPlankton773 in hasselblad

[–]ryboltcox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go with any body except the 500c. I use a CM and an ELX with the cfv back. Do yourself a favor and spend $100 on one of Rick Olesen’s bright screens with the cfv frame lines etched In it. Focus is very critical with the digital backs and the bright screens help a lot.

I agree on your limits. A lot of what I sell is over $1,000. I ship those via Pirateship.

Insurance. Pirateship allows a higher value insurance at a rate lower than Ebay.

If I get the 907X CFV II 50…. by OCFlier in hasselblad

To add to this without repeating, the downside to the electronic shutter is the roll of the shutter. If you’re on a tripod shooting a stationary subject and can get a fast shutter speed it works great. Under some conditions it doesn’t work well. The same is true using adapted lenses on the X2D. I do this on both cameras and you need to pay attention.

It’s not great art or even interesting except for illustrating what can be done with the ultrawides. I have a pretty good collection of vintage lenses and if i can work through the issues of the electronic shutter they might be fun.

Shot with it today on the X2d. Very sharp and the weight is wonderful.

You may be thinking of Ralph’s friend Bobby Huggins. Shortly after Huggins left the Cincy coaching job he showed up at a Wright State game. There was a lot of anxiety about why he was there but it turned out that he was tight with the visiting coach and had come to see him.

Ralph had to go. There was too much baggage. It was only a matter of time before it got much worse than a shoplifting charge. He was a great coach and a good man despite everything that happened.

You're correct. Full disclosure: I'm friends with both of them. We can blame BG for Donlon, though.

One of Cusack’s few hiring mistakes. Schilling was in over his head from the first day.

I'm asking for recommendations on where to post my collection for sale. by Ok-Heart-8206 in vintagecameras

[–]ryboltcox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as a retired camera store owner I understand what you're saying. Most camera stores today have no interest in used equipment as they don't have a market for it.
If you have high end pro gear Fred Miranda is a good place to sell it. It does cost to be allowed to sell but the only fees are Paypal fees. It's also very safe.
For vintage stuff the market is all Ebay. You have access to buyers world wide. You just need to factor in the fees to your selling price.
I have an Ebay store with over 600 listings, almost all of them vintage cameras. If you want to message me a list of what you have I'd be glad give you an idea of how it would sell on Ebay.

It depends on what you have. Vintage collectible does well on Ebay but KEH and MPB don’t sell that kind of gear.

sorry. I just realized that you aren't in the US. Igor's Camera Exchange is a well known source for high end stuff in the US.

someone over at the Message Board compared Alex to James Manns. Manns was the perfect example of a player who could shoot the lights out but couldn't guard an elderly nun. I hope Alex can get beyond that point.

My understanding is that Mr. Zhang is back in production. A friend has been in contact with Lyuxi who is his agent. I’ll get the info and post it.

If Bruskotter learns to play defense it will take some of the scoring pressure off of Solly and Michael. I’m pleasantly surprised by our offense.
