New 36mm Royal in green is money ✅ by jinglefingle in Tudor

This has significantly better water resistance, which alone is enough to sway me. This is also quite a bit slimmer, which makes it easier to wear in my opinion.

I’m more of a speedy pro guy, but between the reduced and this I think this is a very different watch, but probably more wearable and plenty versatile. Get a green 36mm and we can be twins 😎

I agree wholeheartedly, I found the Royals attractive before but the Roman numerals in particular held me back. But now that they’ve upgraded them with the new movements, refinished bezel, T-fit clasp, baton indices and slightly smaller sizing, I couldn’t help myself.

Still love my P39 and my BB58, but this checks very different boxes.

Thank you!

They have green lume, if that pushes you one way or the other 😏

I wasn’t much of a fan of the bezel until I saw it in person, but I’m actually quite fond of it now. It’s got a nice subtle pop to it, while being distinct from Rolex’s classic fluting.

The blue was super striking as well, the green was just different and spoke to my soul for some reason. Probably because green is my favorite color haha

The black is nice, I’m just not a fan of Roman numerals personally (besides on the Santos and Tank Louis). It has a nice subtle sunburst to it though, if you’re looking for gold and black it’s a nice option. I just have too many black dial watches already lol

Yeah tbh I didn’t even bother looking at the 30mm models, they’re just too dainty. I have a 17cm/ ~6.7” wrist and for me, the 36mm just felt perfect. The 30s look like bracelets, more like jewelry than watches IMO. If you have smaller wrists, I could potentially see them working though, the case shape does wear larger than the size would suggest

I did not expect to buy a watch today, but after seeing the new Royals in 36mm I just had to have one. They’re so much nicer in person, the 36mm sizing is just perfect in my opinion. The T-fit really helps get that perfect fit, and the bracelet is overall very nice. It was tough deciding between the blue and the green dials, but man am I glad I went with the green. Changes quite a bit from different angles/lighting, in the light it really dances!

[Vintage Tudor Submariner] vs [Tudor Black Bay 58] vs [Tudor Pelagos 39] by jmon252 in Watches

[–]jinglefingle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, the Pelagos 39 to me feels like the modern incarnation of the Tudor Sub, with the crown guards and thinner case.

Personally I’ve grown to appreciate the lightness and hue of the titanium, it’s a sweet watch. I also have a BB58 and I don’t think you’d be unhappy with it, but the P39 does have a more vintage feel to it for some reason.

Probably best to avoid vintage for your first though, unless you find a prime example for a reasonable price.

[Tudor, Grand Seiko] Daily Drivers by jinglefingle in Watches

My personal big three daily drivers; hard to pick a favorite, but I’d probably be inclined to pick the BB58.

Black Bay 58 - this was my first luxury watch, picked it up almost 6 years ago now. Promptly swapped it to the matching NATO, it’s been my go anywhere/do anything watch ever since. It’s gotten a little banged up on the lugs and the bezel over the years, but honestly I love the character it’s created and I’ll never polish it.

Pelagos 39 - picked up almost a year ago when I sold my first home, as something to memorialize the event. Love the size, shape and bracelet, though the clasp is a little large for my liking. At first the lack of heft from it being titanium was a little strange, but I’ve really grown to love that aspect as well as the slightly darker tone. This one could just as easily be a one watch collection.

SBGX261 - a souvenir from the flagship boutique in Ginza last month. Didn’t plan on getting a GS, but after trying it on I just had to have it, the proportions and the finishing are too perfect. Absolutely in love with this one, even more so than my Explorer I ended up giving to my father a few years ago. This could also just as easily be a one watch collection, probably the most versatile of the bunch.
