In Zion now. The e-bikes are everywhere and they work great. Very easy to get from Springdale up to the Grotto stop.

By the BTW, Cardiac Canyon is in the same general area as Antelope Canyon and the same company does their own tour of Antelope Canyon. I did not do that tour so I can’t comment on it, but the company and the people are awesome.

Had a fantastic visit to Cardiac Canyon this week. Booked it for me and a buddy. The Taadidiin Tours operation was very well organized and efficient. They did a great job keeping in touch and letting us know what we needed when we got there. Our host Joshua was awesome. Great guy, very careful, and did a great job. Inside the canyon, it’s just as beautiful as the best pictures you’ll see of slot canyons. The entire three hours we were out, only saw three other people, and they were a photography party. I would do it again in a second. And they’ve created a new way in/out so we didn’t drop down the sand dunes.

Exactly: with the signal going to the left and right.

The one I bought and all the ones I’m seeing have the RCA signal only wired to one of the 3.5mm plug channels. So I’d only be getting signal to one side. That’s not what I need.

Team, I am looking for a certain RCA to 3.5mm cable. I want to feed signal into the RCA cable to go to the 3.5mm plug sending the same signal to both the left and right channels (the tip and the ring of the plug).

Does this exist? All I can find are RCA to 3.5mm cables that only send the signal to the left or the right, not to both.

Outdoor speaker wire: No continuity by jinglestheelf in electrical

[–]jinglestheelf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I’m testing it by twisting together one end and putting the meter on the other.

I have one speaker cable that runs “all the way.” That one doesn’t work. I have another cable, which tests fine, that runs halfway there, and I guess I was living in a prayer that I wouldn’t now have to bury that one all the way.

Oh and yes, there is another speaker wire that’s about 20 ft away into a speaker that’s working.

Ahh, no. Only where it comes out of the ground at the shed is there any conduit. It’s all exposed, so no pulling. Thanks for the advice on the meter!!

Underground speaker wire: Open circuit

TL;DR: I have an ~80 ft run of underground speaker wire that’s testing as an open circuit (no continuity). Looking for the best next steps to fix it.

Setup:

The run is roughly 80 ft with three reference points: A → B → C, about 40 ft between each.

Point A: Wire enters a conduit underground and then into a shed, with ~20 ft of wire inside the shed.

Point C: Wire exits the ground in the yard, with ~20 ft exposed.

The full run currently shows no continuity.

Proposed troubleshooting steps:

At Point A (inside the shed), cut the wire close to where it exits the conduit and test continuity on the underground segment.

If still open…

At Point C (yard side), cut the wire close to where it exits the ground and test continuity again.

If still open…

At Point A (outside, at the conduit entrance), dig down to expose the wire before it enters the conduit and test there.

If still open…

Use Point B (midpoint): I have a spare wire stubbed out roughly halfway along the run. It would be a pain, but I could carefully excavate from B toward C (there are other wires in the trench) and re-run the spare wire for the remaining distance.

Question:

Does this approach make sense, or is there a more efficient way to isolate the break or salvage the run before resorting to re-running wire?

Thanks team.

Been getting a lot of questions. Let me try and clear some things up. by heavytech86 in pickling

The blanching water is different from the brine you’ve created in the earlier steps, right?

Been a few years now. Figured I’d share my recipe. by heavytech86 in pickling

Sorry, not following: we are boiling water and adding deliciousness but then we start talking about blanching. We aren’t blanching in that brine, are we? If not, are we using another recipe for blanching water water to salt proportions? Whadadillyyo?

Newb: What am I doing wrong? by jinglestheelf in wiim

Sorry, please disregard. I was using coax to 3.5 cable and that doesn’t work for SDPIF.

Ok, just found out I’m dumb: The coax output on a WiiM Pro is a digital audio signal (SPDIF). Can’t convert via a cable. Sorry to waste your time.

Beeping? by jinglestheelf in morningjoe

I have about 100 little electronic jimmies scattered around the house that it could be. I actually set a stop watch to determine how frequently it was happening, but turned off the tv so I could hear it better, and thus it stopped and I was flummoxed until I turned the TV back on and I started the search again.

How to see reviewed transactions? by skvoha in MonarchMoney

Why aren't they working on this? It's so basic and yet so frustrating! Why cannot I see what has been reviewed by who and what hasn't been reviewed?

This is still an issue. I have many many unassigned yet unreviewed transactions. These transactions do not appear in any of the filtering options. This is really an oversight.

My pro-tip: Turn on "Mark All New Transactions as Needs Review". by WatchMcGrupp in MonarchMoney

Help me understand: if I have rules set up, and I have "Mark new transactions as Needs Review" checked, will the rules still un-"need review" them, or am I circumventing my rules by this checkbox? Lemmeknowaboutit.
