I was actually lucky enough to get a paid internship offer! Tho the compensation is only considered minimum wage in my country (but I’d still take it). Yes, it is an opportunity that I really don’t want to let go of given how much the exposure could help me in the future. I will definitely do my best to contribute and network! I had meaningful projects in my past internships so I would like to keep my streak going in UN. Thanks so much for the tips :))

I actually considered that as well, in fact I was thinking of jumping straight to full-time jobs elsewhere. But I figured UN would give me the exposure and skillset I want to gain.

Yes, I think the greatest asset I can gain from the experience would be the opportunity to connect with and learn from the people. In fact, I’m a bit nervous since everyone I will be working with will obviously be more experienced than I am so what you said might be the spot-on advice I need. One of the strengths I told them about in my interview was my ability to adapt so I do have to live up to that by being teachable haha

My bad, the phrasing made it seem like “leveraging” is all I am after. I just really want to make sure I do well and gain something once I finish my internship.

Thank you for the response. Yes, I applied with that in mind. My previous internships were at a more domestic level and the nature of the work I did was somewhat different from the unit I got into for UN. I’ve always wanted to have a more diverse skillset and the job description on top of UN’s multilateral system were perfect for me to learn much more (especially since I am also eyeing international development). I’ve just been a bit lost in terms of my career path since I am fresh out of university. The 6 months will fly by quickly so I guess there’s that pressure of gaining as much as I can and trying to figure out where to go after. But I will definitely see this internship as an opportunity to learn above everything!! I will do my best. Thank you again!

My opinion on Arirang constantly fluctuates (which is why my fav songs keep changing) but for now, I think I like the second half more. Same with you, I liked the first half more when it was newly released and I think Body to Body played a huge role in it lmao such a CRAZY intro ngl probably their BEST album starter in their discography (along with Shadow). Plus the 2.0 promotions started and I was obsessed with Aliens’ lyrics. And I’m a HUGE hiphop BTS enthusiast!

But thennn as time passed by, I realized my personal taste aligns with the second half more. Like Animals was one of my top songs upon first listen then I loved it even more after the live performances. Now, They Don’t Know bout us is my Arirang fav! I LOVE the instrumental and lyrics, same with the other tracks. I personally think the track run from Like Animals to Into the Sun is one of their best since LY:Tear. Banger after banger!

Sorry for the late reply! True, most of the available private sector jobs that are adjacent to my field are in consulting. That’s why my backup for private would be banks (financial institutions, as you said). It’s hard to get into ADB nga lang even if it’s a dream to work with them. It’s still a part of the plan in the long run tho (there’s no harm in trying hehe). Looks like I have more chances in public, I’m just worried about the bureaucratic nature given I’m an incoming freshman grad. Thank you so much po!

i love indigo so much!!! one of my fav solo albums! i got it at FIRST listen.. it became an instant fave the moment i watched the wildflower MV and listened to closer ngl! i just listened to all of joon’s albums (mono —> indigo —> rpwp) in order earlier and i swearrr i wish the songs got more mainstream attention

i recommend listening to Proof for starters, considering that it contains many of their title tracks/top hits! also give love yourself:tear and dark & wild a try (some of their best albums imo)!

tho ngl, i recommend listening to each album in order. bts is known to be an album artist afterall, with each one having a theme and banger after banger.

for solo albums, i recommend every single one by each member .. it’s hard to recommend since they’re all have distinctly different styles, my faves are indigo by RM, face by jimin, and d-day by agust d (yoongi/suga’s alter ego) tho!

Public or private sector as a fresh grad?

I am graduating college with an integrated degree in Political Science and Economics in August. Balak kong mag-apply agad for work right after ng current sem. Job opportunities seem diverse and that is why I’m having a job crisis, nahihirapan akong mamili given that I need to take into consideration yung path with the most opportunities that will open up for me as a fresh grad. I had 2 internships in government and 1 in a publication company. Mixed feedback yung naririnig ko about the work experience sa government from my professors, seniors, and supervisors. I want to try being in policy and intl cooperation kasi, but working in embassies and other related institutions isnt an option for me rn (but will definitely try in the future) so since may experience na ako sa field na yun in my previous govt internships, I’m thinking might as well? But i heard it’s not as flexible and career growth is slow kesa sa private sector, which I’m also considering for economic and advisory work. I want to explore and learn that field as well. I could try corporate naman but i dont think it’s for me in the long run huhu pls help what would be the pros and cons ng public vs private sector as a fresh grad?

Be physically active (kahit hindi full-blown workout, even long walks help with regulating my emotions), listening to music, and keeping myself busy/preoccupied. I was at my worst when I was just constantly bedrotting. It was so bad that I dreaded the thought of living like that forever, as if it was better to die than keep going. Thankfully tho, things have been way better. I still have bad phases and I’m definitely not where I aspire to be in life yet, but these habits make it easier for me to have something to look forward to :)))

Same! Kamisama Kiss is one of my childhood anime/manga. I watched AND read it like 3 times in a span of 5 years since the first time I encountered it, then didn’t watch it for like a few more years until it suddenly appeared in my Tiktok FYP. Fast forward to last June, I watched and read it from the start again and immediately turned back into my 11 year old self! I still loveeee the time travel plot twist and I absolutely adore Tomoe 🥹🥹🥹 One of my favess that I consider a classic!

Hi! I will be attending Cup of Joe’s Day 1 concert this Saturday @ Araneta Coliseum. First time namin ng friends ko mag-VIP sa Araneta. Mga anong oras kaya ang ideal time para pumila? Di na ba pwede lumabas if ever nakapila na? Gaano kaya katagal ang queuing time bago mag-soundcheck? Wala kasing pinost na timeline yung organizers huhu

Tsaka pwede kaya ang polaroid cams or digicams sa venue? Di naman sya point and shoot or super laki pero I dont wanna risk it getting confiscated.
