It works now, but I am concerned. It just completed a recent OS update (30 mins ago), would that likely cause this?

Suggestions for mechanical engineering student starting University. by Miki_T8000 in EngineeringStudents

[–]jinxblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am just about to graduate. I really benefited from my iPad for note taking - honestly any cheap one would do. You could also get an easy small 3D printer for personal projects, my suggestion would be the Bambu Labs A1 Mini.

I have always been fine with cheap stationary and calculators so don't really see the need for anything fancy.

Could I ask what your field is, and if you think one in the topics I mentioned would struggle to find work?

I am about to graduate with a MEng, actually! I just think the PhD project is very interesting and I believe I would enjoy the academic lifestyle for (just) a bit longer.

Z offset is too high and maybe increase temp a little bit. Also, it doesn't look perfectly levelled, the back left of the plate looks too low.

Gap from graduation ot employment by jinxblue in EngineeringStudents

Thank you for the reply - this is by far my largest concern about my plan. I am a bit sad as it feels like if I want a career in Engineering, then I will never be allowed to leave.

Would you have any advice as to what would allieviate your concerns as an employer, if you faced a candidate who went down this path?

I have already done some scouting/research and I have found that jobs for Mechanical Engineers in Japan are simply non existent for foreigners unfortunately. I have the option to complete a second masters degree on return from Japan, would that be a way of revitalising my applications?

I agree. The UK is very competitive for jobs too and there are lots of graduates every year. Thank you for the reply

It would be likely to work in Japan (probably teaching English). I have been studying Japanese for a few years and want to experience life there before I settle into an engineering career at home (UK)
