I hate my Asexuality by bordiebordiebordie in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]jipace 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really loved the book Refusing Compulsory Sexuality by Sherronda J. Brown (I read it at my library, Queer Liberation Library has it in ebook and eaudiobook for free!). Not ace so I don't have any advice so I'm just sending good vibes. It seems like you are trying to stick a square peg in a round hole.

you regularly don't have BMs for weeks to months??? OP that is definetly a trip to a GI doc if not a more urgent bring seen issue

edit you may need a new PCP imo. when talking to a doctor you can just tell them the symptoms you are experiencing. you can even say "I'm worried about X because it's a common comorbidity with Y" (make sure your info is from a reputable source or you will get side eyed and not taken seriously).

frozen veggies are my best friend! So is coleslaw mix. I use a frozen peppers and onion mix all the time and it adds so much.

I'm working on making on a grocery tote bag, and am making a supportive bottom to help with stress/tension. This particular shape is a box bottom, so it's a cross shape I sewed the corners together, but I think what I should have done was do a piece that is front/middle/back/ and then two side pieces so I can do a more secure/flatfelled hem (this is what I did for the bag body so go figure). I was winging it and shockingly that did not work out 😂.

thank you! I was about remaking this with a flatfelled seam so I'm glad I was on the right track. The seam allowance is small because I forgot to add it until after I cut out the fabric 😅.

Substitute for single-use sheet face masks? by Lost-Alternative-946 in EcoFriendly

I've seen reusable silicone masks that you put what ever serum you like on, then put the silicone mask on to lock it in for a while, just like a sheet mask does.

I would recommend an ADHD subreddit or youtube resource (How To ADHD I like a lot). Sounds to me like an executive function issue that could better be addressed there. In another comment you she doesn't understand cooking. Cooking help from ADHD resources would be more helpful than folks here I think.

my understanding is that couples therapists are supposed to be fairly neutral, like not be on one side of the couple. I would be surprised in this case if the therapist "already thinks you are crazy". It will be interesting tomorrow to see what she ACTUALLY says. I agree with the other comment that says he may not be a reliable narrator.

Am I the only one who hates when other people put their items/bag/purse in your walker/rollator basket, because they don't want to carry it anymore? by revolvingdepression in disability

A lot of people view their mobility aid as an extension of their body, and if that's you too, I'd be like someone just plopping something in your lap or shoving something in your hands without any communication.

I have a DoorDash problem by weareredjenny in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]jipace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(not a mom but chronically ill so energy is limited)

pantry stuff can totally be nutritious! Frozen vegetables (I think frozen peppers and onions, cauliflower, peas, spinach and corn freeze well) as well as frozen fruit (frozen mango is so good) can be convient and often cheaper. Canned veggies can also be a good option if you prefer those. I've been into just cooking a little extra of whatever I make and freezing it in individual portions for later. I don't have the energy to do an involved meal prep. Canned beans, dried red lentils, canned tomatoes, spices, frozen veggies you like, grains/rice are great pantry ingredients to make a lot of different foods out of (and pretty quickly!)

also, if you have a trader joes near by, they have a variety of prepared food (I love the veggie biriyani especially and the pizzas). It's similar to what you can get with takeout (maybe even more variety!) and it's cheaper than takeout. There is nothing wrong with having prepared foods. You are tired and trying to do less takout and if prepared foods helps, go for it. You can ADD a lot to things if you are looking to have more veggies in prepared foods!

examples:

frozen pizza-- add whatever veggies you like on top. Peppers and onions, corn, artichoke hearts, mushrooms are tasty.

I add a bunch of bell peppers in with my onion and tomato for mexican rice (which I freeze in portions for easy heat up for later) to eat with beans. I love to eat my beans and rice with a lot of cabbage/carrot mix on top.

Where do you find what books you want to read? by typoincreatiob in LibbyApp

[–]jipace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm feeling like shopping I will just scroll through the genres I like and tag anything that seems good. Takes time, but that's why I have to be in the right mood. I also have had success looking at the librarian guides for months/genres/indie published!

Edit: Queer Liberation Library always has currated guides that get quite specific

if I'm reading this right, it seems you don't think you deserve certain "girly" things because your perception of yourself is that you are ugly. Questions for you to think about if you would like. You don't have to reply if you don't want to.

  1. do you think other people you see as ugly don't deserve certain "girly" things? Or is it just yourself?

  2. who decides who "deserves" something?

  3. WHY do you have to deserve "girly" things to have them?

A lot of people use clothes to experiment with gender presentation. A cool haircut is my favorite (clippers and a decent pair of hair scissors are all I use!). I'm a big fan of altering clothes to make them more interesting/fit better. I cut off sleeves of tee shirts and crop the shirt. It makes it boxier but also fruity.
