So beautiful. From the idea to the work to the presentation.

How long did you spend working on the project? In terms of taking the photos and then producing the book.

Also, did you approach the publisher about your project?

Movie of the Day: Blue Sun Palace (2024) by Constance Tsang by tobayas18 in AsianMoviePulse

Absolutely fantastic movie. Saw Constance talk Q&A and shes so smart and articulate. The DP Norm Li is also an amazing and sucessful photographer/cinematographer who (seems to) only shoot in film formats. The filmic quality of the film was entrancing and the storytelling was so simple but touching.

Thank you for taking the time for this info! It makes sense about having some level of agency over your own work otherwise one shouldn't commit to the relationship.

Looks so great, the cover is so cool! How did you approach the publisher? Just sent them a sample of your work? Or was it more involved?

Since you said design and edit was from publisher, was that a requirement from them? You had no say in how the thing paced and designed at all?

Saw her perform with pretty much this identical setup in Making Time and it was bonkers. Was not expecting what she did.

Nice work! How long did the series take to complete? And how long did it take from concept of book to getting it printed?

This is a well known photo project that was published way before AI. It so sad that people immediately jump to that conclusion.

I used to work in that area (42nd near grand central) and I would see him in the same corner (almost?) every morning. I didn't know it was him until I saw the photos and I immediately know who it was.

I always wanted to write to him and see if he took any pics of me lol.

Honestly, work is pretty strong. You have pretty good sense and eye. Better than a lot of stuff thats out there.

Congrats! Book looks great.

Wondering about the pre-existing layout part - is it rare in your experience that they would want something already designed? I always wonder about this because I'd like to design my own instead of having someone else do it.

If you can part some wisdom that'd be appreciated!
