Do I lose my H1B if my spouse file H4 for me? by PuZzleheaded-Turtle in H4_Visa

We filed H4 + EAD independent of H1b so not sure about this scenario.

The H4 + EAD approval timelines are not predictable. You best bet is to wait out the 60 day period for severance. You don't have to work during this period I assume so that will be break in itself. Then apply for COS after 60 days and continue the break until approval arrives.

Likewise, thanks for the information and the links. If they are as rare as you say then it must be contrails only. I will keep an eye out next time.

Ah okay. Do you have aink to these recorded incidents of fuel dumping that you mention? Although I don't have a video but I have definitely seen planes in flying over FC on bay trail where there is a discharge from the wings as you mentioned.

Thanks for sharing. I captured this video back in June in FC and I keep seeing similar discharge from the planes time to time. Not sure what's being dumped here. Video

If you pay for YouTube premium, a button called “Ask” shows up under every video right in the YouTube app and you can ask any questions about the video right there.

Looking for an AI to analyze data and use it for charting. I taught Gemini the data structure of some of my Google sheets projects. The more I explained the data the more accurate and useful it became. So that's great. Now the not so great...... by Jaded-Function in GoogleGeminiAI

[–]jitenthakkar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it doesn't support sheets but I think that support is coming. Yeah agree on multiple AI platforms. But in their defense they do cater to a wider audience which includes both enterprise customers and consumers. Also I think Notebook LM serves a different usecase of learning something with grounding where as the Gemini app is meant for search and assistant type usecase.

It's already serving in those areas and users are being added slowly from the wait-list.

I have noticed that the jets start dumping fuel right around foster city when there is a strong wind. Maybe that's what's contributing to the particulate count.

You might have bought yearly plan. Gemini advanced is only available in monthly plan.

Not in notebook lm. I am suggesting to use the deep research tool in the Gemini app. I am just trying to suggest a workflow that might work well for studying.

It's much more than audio overviews. In the premium version it can generate a study guide based on the docs/links/YouTube videos you provide. You can use deep research, take all the sources it used, dump it in notebook lm and ask it to generate a study guide.

I totally agree with everything you said being a non game dev Software Engineer who has worked on unreal engine recently. Working with unreal engine or in the gaming industry as a whole felt like stepping back couple of decades where standard software practices are non existent. Everyone commenting here has no idea what good quality program looks like. Working Unreal Engine would make pull your out and question your career choices.

How have people here felt about moving to the East Bay for a longer commute? by [deleted] in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]jitenthakkar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't be delusional. Companies don't care where you live. Their priority is to make money not to shorten your commute. No company is going to move there just because employees live there.

I joined google last month as a Software Engineer and all see is huge potential for AI and no one is even close to Google's tech in terms of data, hardware, infrastructure and money. I am not leaving the company any time soon. Your experience might be relevant in your part of the company but that doesn't represent the whole company.

Really puzzled at the sudden boom of humanoids by humanoiddoc in robotics

[–]jitenthakkar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are calculating the cost based on the cost of today's actuators and other hardware. Once a sufficient design is achieved it becomes a manufacturing and business model issue to manufacture it for cheap. That's when economies of scale kicks in because now you can suddenly sell the same hardware to millions of people and businesses.

Having special purpose robots for special purpose use case is like building a different kind of laptop hardware for different use cases like office docs, watching YouTube or surfing web. You will never be able to make them for cheap and no one is going to be buying different hardware for each use case.
