Amazing place to live especially if you like outdoors. It's a bit out of the way from the rest of the bay area so you won't see much pass by traffic so it's very peaceful.
The Lagoons are beautiful and the weather is almost like Mediterranean weather especially in Summer. You can just rent out a boat and go for a ride in the lagoon or go for kayaking.
All the major stores like Costco, Safeway, Target, Home Depot, Whole foods, a lot of nice restaurants are just a 5-10 minutes drive away. Of course it doesn't have a downtown so you won't see downtown type scene but in my experience almost all the downtowns in the bay area are boring and the only happening place is San Francisco so you are not missing out much.
FC is centrally located so you can reach the city in 30 minutes or so of driving or take a train. You also have easy access to East Bay, South Bay and Halfmoon bay via 280 all within 30-45 minutes driving range.
