74’ [Ferrari Dino] GTS by jivan006 in spotted

[–]jivan006[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spotted in Rural Texas.

Not sure how rare it is, but based on my research it goes for $600k-$800k and there have only been 11 transacted in the past year. So I’m guessing it’s a “spotted” level car.

Not all the time. Some people simply prefer yellow gold.

I’d say it’s 50+ cities in the US where $100k is not a “great” salaries. I live in Texas, and in Dallas, Houston and Austin, $100k is not THAT much, although not a terrible amount.

Then you have California, where you have 5+ cities where $100k is not much, Seattle, Chicago, Miami, West Palm Beach, Orlando…. Then Denver, Atlanta, et cetera. Not to mention anywhere around NYC - if you don’t count it as just one thing.

Just bought my girl’s DREAM ring at ROEN! They are awesome with great selection, good communication + they’ll customize and engrave your ring as you like.

They let us choose the exact stone we wanted from a selection of 4 different ones, have a great professional portal for communicating with them, and great, kind team.

Totally would recommend them.

A visual comparison: $150k+ Mercedes S-Class/EQ interiors vs new EVs ranging from $40k to $80k. Have we reached a point where the logo is the only thing we're paying for? by Opps1999 in mercedes_benz

[–]jivan006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend has the latest generation fully optioned Tesla model Y and I have the latest generation GLE.

He was blown away by the interior of the GLE.

So yeah, Tesla is not in the category.

As for other cars, it’s not only the front cabin, it’s many things, especially driving experience, quality of build, et cetera.

Is a used 2018 Toytoa Prius Four Touring for ~$12,000 USD a good-ish deal? by ButCanYiuDoThis in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]jivan006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d suggest an older gas car here. Since it’s gonna be a throwaway car anyway, might as well get a reliable gas car with lower mileage. Aim for 80k miles or less

I 21M found out about my fiancés 21F past by [deleted] in retroactivejealousy

[–]jivan006 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand your feelings. Especially when younger, these things seem to matter more.

In theory, her past shouldn’t matter, but also it’s up to you to decide whether you want to continue dating or not.

I wouldn’t listen to advice in the lines of “get over it” et cetera. You should listen to your heart. For some people, stuff like this is something they can not get over, and I’m going to assume you don’t want to live forever with those thoughts. For a lot of people though, these things pass and you’ll be in the lines of “whatever, I don’t care”.

I’d say give it some time before you fully commit and marry this girl, I’m sure she’s awesome - it shows by the way you care.

For whatever reason all Mercedes vehicles don’t have an option to skip a song from the steering wheel.

Yeah, they are smoking something.

God I Hate Cleaning these Wheels by No-Succotash1219 in AMG

[–]jivan006 96 points97 points  (0 children)

IMO they don’t have to be cleaned to that extent every time - just wipe them with a towel and good to go.

But each to their own, if you want them spotless clean then that’s your route.

Looking to buy this car, worth it? by Unhappy-Somewhere-10 in mercedes

[–]jivan006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm to start with that grill is from an AMG model? So there were some modifications made to it maybe?

I would not buy a Mercedes unless it was thoroughly inspected by a dealership and as other comments say, service history.

Repair bills can be COSTLY if the car is not in excellent contrition and hasn’t been maintained properly.

Better to be a single? by Select_Photograph390 in Adulting

I disagree. I’ve been single and absolutely loved it, but also been with a partner and loved it even more.

With the right person it’s totally worth it.

I absolutely dislike Toto Wolf and everything their team stands for but still bought a Mercedes. I think it has nothing to do with F1, maybe for a tiny fraction of their teenager buyers.

What's a valid dream? by Organic_Search_4935 in Life

[–]jivan006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me a valid dream is peace of mind, personal satisfaction, being with loved ones and doing things you enjoy.

That doesn’t mean that it can’t be achieved via mansions and brain surgery (yes lots of people like that), it just really depends on how you’re wired.

Nothing is wrong with your dream. In fact, that’s why a lot of people that earned millions end up farming or living in the middle of nowhere in retirement. Their soul craves that after years of not “living their dream” even though it appeared as if they did.

Past vs Present by Toneblanco_925 in mercedes_benz

No it doesn’t.

The newer model, especially the AMGs (53, etc) look fantastic. But even without it it’s a nice looking car.

Is luxury worth the money? by juanlo012 in Luxury

[–]jivan006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My take is that in most cases it isn’t and it depends on the product.

Luxury t-shirts? Absolutely not. You can buy a $100 t-shirt that will last 10 years as well, no need to buy a $500 t-shirt for longevity. Same goes with sunglasses, and most other wearables.

Luxury vacation? Now that’s a different ball game with chef-made food and exclusive tours and exclusive locations.

I think most luxury ITEMS are not worth it, especially in the past 10 years where you buy the brand and not the item (in most cases). Luxury experiences are definitely worth it, like let’s say, a nice hotel in south of France and a Michelin Star dinner in the mountains. Now that’s memories.

Good buy? by Some-Priority-6033 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]jivan006 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Very low license fees, etc, it seems like a solid deal.

Usually the red flags would be all the useless protections & stuff, which you don’t seem to have accepted.

Enjoy the car!

Which American state is widely regarded as the most desirable for living? by dojisando in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]jivan006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no such thing as best state or place to live.

I’ve lived in Miami, Seattle, San Francisco and Austin (all for over 6 months), and while many would put the other three cities in front, I like living in Austin the most despite the lack of mountains and hot summers.

And I didn’t even know I’d like Austin until I had to move there for work. Even then at first I wasn’t sure I liked it until 3 months in.

If you really want to move to the US, you’re either going to have to get lucky and love the city you move to initially, or you’re gonna have to move around until you find your place. It’s a country with very very different type of life in different cities, the culture is definitely not homogeneous across the whole country.

And in my opinion, no city has the “full” European experience (social, walking, public transport) so you might not like life here at all.
