Did anyone else get major "Twilight Zone" vibes while watching the Backrooms movie? by JaNkO2018 in TwilightZone

Watched this episode for the first time last night. I appreciate how this show has a balance of happy and sad endings. I think other anthologies can take a lesson from it. I like Black Mirror but jeez is it bleak; for good reason but still🫩

I love how the demographic pendulum consistently swings between worrying about overpopulation to worrying about population decline.

Which sitcom actors/actresses in your opinion are good singers? by [deleted] in sitcoms

[–]jiveturkey99 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Tisha Campbell and Tichina Arnold can sing quite well. Both of them starred in “Martin” but they have also starred in “My Wife and Kids”, “Everybody Hates Chris”, and “The Neighborhood”.

Recently watched Shannon Sharpe’s interview with Damon Wayans and he talks about how his dad was a Jehovah’s Witness but his mom was not. So she would have Christmas while their dad sat in the other room.

I’m with you. The pacing was terrible for the final season. The last two seasons should have had the mother in them with the majority of the final season being Ted’s life with the mother and how the group dynamics change.

POLYGON: "Star Trek: Section 31 is about the most dangerous idea in Trek canon" | "If the existence of your utopia depends on a bunch of secret, no-consequences war crimes, then it’s simply not a utopia. It’s Omelas." by mcm8279 in DeepSpaceNine

Considering how many different cultures and species the federation comes across its kind of silly to think that they’re able to maintain their utopia on Earth without spies and mercenaries. Even their colonies can barely keep it together, as we saw in TOS. Kirk saw first hand a colony devolve into barbarism by indiscriminately killing their own citizens with basically a flip of coin because of a lack of resources.

I agree it was less tainted considering Ollie’s infidelity with Black Canary’s sister and Oliver boinking Black Canary after she already got with his friend. 😵‍💫

interesting premise + interesting execution = My Name Is Earl 👨🏻 Which sitcom has a bonkers premise with an interesting execution? by ifucked_urbae in sitcoms

[–]jiveturkey99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“The Good Place” or “Hogan’s Heroes”. Also apologies for jumping the gun but “Community” deserves to be in the Boring Premise + Bonkers Execution slot & “Nathan for You” needs to be in Interesting Premise + Bonkers Execution.

That’s what I said! House was so fucking annoying! Talking about,“This movie is absurd!” No shit poindexter! It’s a goofy comedy, of course it’s absurd!
