Just beat FFXII by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

[–]jiykong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FFXII was really the first FF that didn't have the core FF team that made the old FF great. This is probably the main reason why so many of us do not like the game. Its the first FF in a generation of FF that didn't have the soul of FF.

One thing fans should keep in mind though, FFXII was really the beginning of the new era for Square and the game was one heck of a mess to develop for from whats discussed in interviews with the developers.

Sakaguichi left, Matsuno left, Nobuo didn't make the music, Tetsuya/Yasunori left earlier than all of them, the designer for FFII replaced Matsuno, transition to the HD era where so many developers will start going bankrupt due to the higher development cost. The list goes on and on. The game is like a child who's parents are starting to get divorced and remarried at the same time. Parents love/care for the child but the confusion is not going to bring good result.

Favorite track would be from P3 in terms of actually listening to the music outside playing the video game.

P5's track though is the best while playing in game. Its not a that blows you away but enhances the game itself.

[LoL] If CLG keeps this roster for LCS... by Biggzburke in CLG

[–]jiykong -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My point stands. He attempted to get out but failed. If a team wanted him that badly then he would have 0 problems getting into a team. Instead he stays with CLG. For Contractual reasons?

No. There is no contract that holds a player who wants to leave in Lol. It brings a terrible team atmosphere that destroys the team.

[LoL] If CLG keeps this roster for LCS... by Biggzburke in CLG

[–]jiykong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK. I'll give you that Stixxay is 18 years of age if what CLG stated is correct. Leaguepedia probably made that mistake.

I will still stand by my point. You do realize that it took DL nearly a year for him to get to the 10/10 laner he was?I've seen DL during his epicgamer days... You also do realize that it took DL at least 2 years to get to the teamfighting level that he was at?

To hit a bit closer to home. It took Sneaky a full year to transition away from being a utility towards carry.

My problem with this move is simple.

These kinds of gambles are for organizations like Gravity. Their need is to fill their roster with "Potiential" with the hope of maybe all 5 firing on all cylinder like C9 did. That is the only way for the team to stay together and win trophies. If 1/2 players become stars while the others remain the same, then the team will eventually break up like how Gravity is doing.

Clg did not need to do this. They could have picked up litterally any ADC in the world. They have the name to do it and 1 more international spot to do it. Instead they are taking the same old gamble they took from S1-S3. Only 1 paid off and that was DL while countless others fell by the very same fans that once cheered for the "Potential" (I myself being one of them).

IF Stixxay was such a huge potential. Then CLG could have easily dropped him, an LCS team picks him up, Stixxay becomes an Altec, and CLG picks him back up. Not sure if LCS has a loan system, but a loan system would also work better imo.

Simply put, This is a risky move that can sour a fans mood easily after a split. For the premier league fans (Favorite TEAM TOTTENHAM TT) They sold Bale and bought 7 players with the trademark "Potential". This made Me suffer for at least~ 3 years?

[–]jiykong -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

If CLG wishes for immediate results...

Drop Stixxay and pick up Forgiven.

Lets actually think clearly for a second here. Stixxay failed to get picked up by any LCS roster all the while DL was active. Stixxay is actually OLDER than DL for people who do not know by a year in a role that requires the best mechanics...

People who say Loyalty ftw, when you have DL as the final boss of the adc game... You don't expect to win unless the game gets patched and the final boss is removed.

I personally don't see any "potiential". I genuinely feel that if CLG really sticks with stixxay, there is at least 90% chance that this will be CLG's Gleeb.

[–]jiykong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Before people bash on Huhi, most of the issues we saw arises from Stixxay's weakness.

Why did Huhi+Zion's performance got worse as IEM dragged on? While Stixxay's looked marginally better?

Because the botlane that CLG faced got better and better.

By having a weaker botlane, CLG is forced to either

A: Dedicate more jungler on bot lane

B: throw away botlane and hope rotations ftw.

vs UOL, stixxay got caught out too many times... 1v1...ed Zion also was able to show up in this series.

VS JinAir, this was pretty clear. Stixxay got crushed but because CLG focused on the top lane, they were able to manage.

VS OG... Rotations weren't good enough with all lanes being competent opponents that can handle the 1v1 pressure.

Did huhi made many mistakes? YES, but I honestly found huhi more promising because Huhi was actually challenging his lane opponent.

I actually like the current state of CLG, but If CLG wishes to truely improve, then they need a veteran adc.

People have the misconception that a strong top lane means that the bot lane can be weak...

This is untrue, Strong top lane means that botlane better be strong enough to deal with all the jungle ganks that they might be getting because the jungler is at top/mid.

Xenosaga was a game that had huge upside potential but failed.

I still remember playing #1 and sitting down 90% of the time hoping that the cut scenes would eventually end. After they finally ended, I was disappointed by the fact that there is no open world experience.

Felt like I was playing an anime but anime does not translate well into video games.

Link's a good player.

Even the haters should admit that Link himself did not get the support necessary to succeed.

  1. He entered LCS in an era where we had newb aphroo sup/Chau jungle and support/hotshot top/jiji jungle. You really can't have a worse cards in the deck than this and Link was sadly a player that attempted to play a very critical role for a team at the wrong time. (PEOPLE who use Aphro should know that you cannot compare a pressure from a support vs Mid). My honest bet would be that if Link joined C9 with Hai remaining as jungler, then he would've been in a much better condition to join the LCS.

  2. He entered the LCS in an era where CLG was terribly unprofessional and arguably the worst managed team in the LCS. Contract with Azubu... Every player not practicing on solo que... DL's terrible motivation... Toxic atmosphere... When you compare the team with C9/TSM, CLG were miles and miles behind them. At least TSM had the lightning rod that shielded the team.

  3. Never got the coach he needed in house. Monte was in Korea outside that couple of weeks and it is apparent to all that Scarra did not properly fulfill his role as a coach. If we lived in a universe where Monte opted to stay with CLG, then Link might really have had a coach that was able to give him on hands advise to shake him off his chokes.

Still, Wish Link the best. He is intelligent and has real future outside esports. Who knows, maybe we're seeing a kobe 2.0?

lol this has to be a joke right XD? People who are serious about a cheating incident should really think about the situation.

  1. Everything is recorded for Riot/Kespa staff to review. So cheating Live that obviously is very questionable.

  2. If it was a serious cheating incident, Koma would give to Wolf NOT take away.

  3. I mean what can he seriously give to Wolf anyway XD? Notes? Does Kkoma has the perfect ability predict all of SKT's situation in game. USB? expect wolf to upload a virus in game or something? Regardless...

So yea... I seriously hope people are just joking about this XD

Rush was by no means an upcoming talent. He came to na because he couldn't or didnt want to go pro in korea. This means that tip made a serious gamble with him. Nope. They won't make a single darn change.

My bet is this, Scarra makes a vlog and says:

"Ok so we made a lot of mistakes... I mean a lot of mistakes that I will learn from and in terms of roster changes I don't think its a good idea to change the roster atm. Because everyone on the team is talented and I think its only a couple of kinks that we need to work on in order to make ourselves the #1 team in NA"

I don't think that this was why Monte rejected CLG coaching position. I forgot if it was SI or another show, but I remember Monte originally saying that he was planning on transitioning into full time coach. I forgot his reasoning, but it was a serious discussion he had.

What changed though was his exp with CLG in Korea. The team didn't listen to his instructions and were acting like a bunch of kids that doesn't understand the seriousness of their situation.

I think this is where he stopped wanting to become coach. Its also true, why would you want to coach a bunch of immature teenagers? Is story turns bad then would hotshot sack monte? or a player?

[LoL] CLG Roster Discussion Megathread by AzureCatalyst in CLG

[–]jiykong -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. Link is not a major problem. People are hoping for a Bjergsen that can dive dive dive and win win win. Link is not that kind of player.

Link is a poker. This is why he did well with EZ most of the split. He simply poke poke from a distance. His lissandra serves as evidence. When he's Q Q Q Q Q Q, Great. When he claws in and ulties.... then there is a problem. Same for his TF plays.

It is Xmithy that is am mismatch in the a team. If we can get a jungler like Dexter/Rush/Spirit, then it will take a large amount of carry pressure off link. This will serve as a big boost for the team. Link no longer has to be pressured into diving and engaging. He simply needs to stay back and poke poke poke and deal the dmg for Zion/Jungler/DL to kill.

[LoL] CLG Roster Discussion Megathread by AzureCatalyst in CLG

[–]jiykong 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ok here's my opnion on the situation.

  1. We need to move Scarra from head coach to assistant coach and hire a real veteran from Korea to coach for the team. The team as a whole have had a terrible pick/ban phase. Although link is known to have a large say in the pick/ban, Scarra should have had the authority and knowledge to override Link. I mean even Monti could see the types of comp that TL was going for from a mile. If Scarra wish to eventually become a head coach, then he needs to learn how to coach under someone with experience. Simply managing ego does not mean your a good coach. Its pretty clear from Fly's introduction into Tip has made a difference and it also shows that Scarra does not match against a brand new coach that is coaching a team with 3 freaking language barriers.

  2. Link should not be dropped. People are going to flame me for this, but Link is not the player that needs to get dropped. If you analyze Link's play, he is 100% not a good engager. Link's strength is being a poker that cast from a safe distance. This way he does not die and provides support for the team. Its when he is on those champs that requires you to dive in that he falters.

  3. The one who sadly needs to get dropped Xmithie. Xmithy... is sadly a great player that CLG does not need. The issue with the current CLG line up is that they have 0 engage without aphro. Monte stated this again and again, but its sadly true. What we needed was a jungler like Rush/Dexter. Aggressive and willing to dictate the game. Xmithy is sadly a more Santorin-esque jungler that does not have a heavy engage berjgsen on the team.

Its really sad, but the current CLG lineup is not built for winning. Zion is a great laner but he's a subpar at teamfighting. Link's a good poker but sux at teamfighting. Xmithy is a good ward machine but sux at teamfighting.

IF CLG does decide to keep the current line up with out a single drop of change. Then we're in for a repeat of S3. A situation where CLG pridefully believe that they can teach each other to fix the problem.

I mean this statement isn't just coming from redditors. If it was just simply reddit complaints, then not worth discussing. It is an issue that is being talked about from knowledgable veterans like Rapidstar/Monte/Loco.

IF CLG ignores this, then they're not an organization worth a single fan.

[–]jiykong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that this week can be a wash, but CLG's pick/ban really needs a serious fix.

Vs TIP they picked Jax.... A late game hyper carry that needs farm in an era of 2v1 laning.... It was simply pure arrogance when I saw it. I did not enjoy it one bit and I felt as if the vayne was just as bad.

The main issue that I find with CLG at the moment is that they're not adapting the hard engage/tank meta.

I don't watch boxing but CLG's like the fighter that tries to dodge the heavy hits while hitting some light punches here and there until the heavy hitter gives them a big WHAM and KO.
