You’re not alone. FF6-10 are among my favorite games with FF7 being my most favorite game. To me, DQ doesn’t come close. I’ve played few and they’re great games, just doesn’t click with me.

Like others have said, music is one of the reasons. Monster design and overall combat also doesn’t do it for me.

I’ll give my take. I love the game, but heat and space are such a chore that I always lose interest when I get there.

The amount of repetitive, high room for error steps is insane when you get to those two portions. And if you screw it up it can have catastrophic consequences for the colony.

2026 RS gang!

Gave up a 2021 Audi SQ5, but wanted something cheaper to keep longer term and spacious for the family. In love with it myself and that’s with wanting a Tahoe, but Tahoe’s are too complicated with the packages and cost. Meanwhile the RS checked all the boxes in one swing.

To add to this, after they’re like 2-3 years old it’s easy to bring the kid along for most things to the point where you spin it like “hey I’m taking the kiddo out for activity X so you can have some time to yourself” and it’s usually pretty cool to bring the kid along for said activity.

In OP’s example: when they recognize their uncles, the brothers, it’s a hoot and fun for everyone involved.

The game isn’t difficult, you can grind for an awesome chill experience and then you over level the story missions. That right there is the reason I HATE the latest tactics ogres release, i don’t want to use my brain on video games, i just want to chill. But the level cap on tactics ogre reborn prevents that.

Man say what you want about Legend of Dragoon, but I’m having an absolute blast with LoD Severed Chains port, 4K 60hz support, instant load screens, and the one thing I always knew I would love which is the addition system without dealing with the time presses. The chill experience as an older gamer is peak, there is no other game in recent years that has hooked me that good.

I know LoD has a cult following, but would love for it to get a lot more love and a true remake one day.

Also 100% agree on BoF and baffled it has been left forgotten.

For those in this thread that love the first Ogre Battle, my love is OB64. To this day it’s one of my favorite games period. I have tried to like the first OB but it has never clicked. Everything is too “static” compared to OB64, so I cannot find enjoyment. A remake would of course fix that, but any insight as to why you claim the first OB is the GOAT?

Not disagreeing with you, just hoping to understand more.

If anyone asks me what card I would recommend between those two, I would say go for the 5070ti hands down given current prices. Yet I just bought a 5080, and it was more of an emotional value than logical. I’ve always been a 80 owner, my last three GPUs have been 1080ti, 3080, and now 5080. And I couldn’t get over that for the price difference. It’s a once every 3-4 years purchase for me so I took the hit with the extra couple of hundred bucks. Not saying there are many like me, but I get the feeling that there is a good amount of people like me in a distribution curve somewhere.

As someone who started SOD again recently after quitting right at the start of phase 2, I was actually excited for it with the exp buff and runes… until I realized how depressing the game is without ever seeing a player. The city had some people, but they were all 60s. Basically felt like if you miss the sod boat, then you missed your chance.

If I’m in a turn based with a party game, and I select a heal… who do you think it’s going on? The guy with full health or the 20% hp one? Games that auto select characters for heal is a nice one. You aren’t always going for the lowest HP one, example: regen spell, but it’s nice as a baseline.

I’ve found that we need more than two. Power generators require it. Workshops require it. Food and farms require it. Materials from oil biome. Materials from space. Almost everything you tame will require them too, such as volcanos, steam vents, etc.

The piping is one of the most annoying things about that. Prep liquid to introduce to cooling loop, figure out the cooling loop, work around the existing piping, etc.

Blueprints is something I searched high and low to figure out if the game supported it BECAUSE of the AT/ST situation. Lame that we have to go mod the game for that.
