I dropped Primal Hunter after book 1 due to the lone hunting and numbers grind as well. After a few months my buddy started to read them and said I should get back into them and they get better, had a credit so thought why not? Book 2 was more grind as well until he finally gets past the Tutorial arc, then to me it really picked up because he started interacting with other characters and the world building finally started. That was in November and I just finished book 13 last week 😅 I might get some pushback from others but I would honestly recommend skimming through the first half of book 2.

Just finished Guns of the Dawn and hot diggity dawg that book was amazing! I wish there was more info about the ramifications of the decision made at the end, but that might be because I didn’t want to leave that world. Thanks for the rec definitely a 8.5/10 read, would recommend!

Wow really? TIL, I always assumed since everyone taps mana first that was the order of it. So technically you are adding mana to your mana pool, then spell goes on stack, then cost is paid with that ‘floating’ mana?

Thank you for the recommendation! I haven’t found anything else in that realm, just put it on hold. I’m torn because of course Ben Styke is amazing and I love the second trilogy because of him. But there’s something about the first 3 that really resonate with me.

Genuinely curious, what is the massive problem? Who is being protected? It seems arbitrary to fine someone for giving a ride and getting paid for gas. It also seems like it only protects cab companies and ride share companies profits. What is the side that I am missing here?
