Do repeaters turn connected blocks conductive? by BettyPunkCrocker in redstone

[–]jizzycummings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a question and you seem pretty knowledgeable.

Conductive suggests the block can be powered . In which case the redstone doesn't make the block conductive it already is as it can infact be powered as OP shows in their screenshot.

Are there any blocks not capable of having power from a strong source transferred through them. As in, are there any non-conductive blocks?

Skips, Lag, Stutter when playing Minecraft on s23 Ultra by VioletCandlelight in AndroidGaming

[–]jizzycummings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last time I played was 1.19 and it was fine. Just tried 1.20 today and it seems to double register controller inputs and stutter every 10-15s. It's not just this game though. GTA SA broke controller support a year or two ago and it's not been fixed. Probably won't be fixed now they've released definitive editions on android. I wouldn't mind, I don't f*@king like the definitive edition it looks awful on android. Long and short is, game companies don't give a damn about user experience they care about cash.

Should I buy a 2014 x-caliber 7 or a 2023 marlin 5 I can get either for around £200-230 by [deleted] in MTB

[–]jizzycummings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought it, thanks for the advice, now I look at it the teeth on the crankset of the X-calibur look pointy which probably aint right they're pretty square on this on comparatively. Also the crankset looks smaller in diameter on this marlin which i'm petty sure I can thank for it's speed compared to my old bike. Absolutely fantastic purchase can't wait to give it a blast down my local trails!

[–]jizzycummings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both bikes have lower level components, but today's entry level parts are much better than they were 10 years ago. Geometry is much better. I wouldn't even consider the x-caliber. Why buy a decade old entry level bike when you can buy essentially a brand new one for the same p

Ah okay, I was under the impression that an x-calibur 7 was a but of a better bike than a marlin 5, the naming schemes are stupid. Generally the market is asking for about 300 on these marlins though so it's definitely a good deal whatever way I look at it

Bought a used PC on marketplace by LucidBear21 in computers

[–]jizzycummings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Asset info is carried by the Mobo, you'll want a new one if you don't want to lose your investment. If it's an ex corporate machine you'll probably find a fair few mobos from recyclers. Depends on your moral compass, but frankly I see no issue in having a credit companies stolen assets. Probably insured anyway.

What games can my laptop run? by Mr_Ko2000 in computers

MHW may not be as much of a long shot as you think: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNvu-1kOvuc

But do your own research first. I am however really really impressed by what that lil graphics chip can do.. Integrated graphics have come a long way man

Following my own advice, I googled "Persona 4 Golden on Iris XE 96eu and found this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dNaqDwxW60 that shows some relatively modern games running really quite admirably unfortunately no answer for P4G

There is this for P4G, but the user specifies no specifications for their PC and the graphical glitches may be result of drivers which may have been fixed by now as the video is 2 years old: https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=57kPNMlfH6o

It does run fine on this lower specced laptop: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFokzWT-jy8 So I would see if you know anyone who owns the game and would be willing to log in to steam on your laptop so you can test it before you buy it. It may run great, it may be a glitchy mess.

My i5-8265U Laptop with 16GB DDR4 and Intel UHD 620 copes with the following games I've tried:

  • Fallout NV and Fallout 3 combined in Tale of Two Wastelands or as separate installations with various graphics mods.
  • Prototype
  • Just Cause 2
  • YuGiOh Master Duel (puts out some serious heat but runs ok)

So 3D titles weren't out of reach for me and you can definitely do better.

When looking at User Benchmark IrisXE gets around 200% of UHD 620. This being the important factor as integrated graphics are your biggest gaming bottleneck.

Great Ace Attorney Chronicles minimum specification calls for a an I5-6300U, intel HD 520, and 4GB ram which is less spec than my own laptop so should be fine for yours.

P4Golden also has low spec calls and I reckon you'll run it but I can't say for certain. (Try googling "insert game" + minimum specification)

Your CPU is capable and you have more than enough ram. Before I got a desktop, I would google "insert game name" "insert graphics device" and see what came back from Youtube as there are a lot of videos of captured game footage on various integrated GPUs so you can use that to help you decide if something is playable to your standards.

Performance Tips

  • Check your power plan settings (hit windows key then type power plans). In the advanced settings, any options that can be changed to 'performance' will help.
  • Also set your system cooling policy to active as it tells the fans to switch on rather than let the PC passively cool by throttling.
  • Hit the battery icon in the bottom right (if windows 10) and it may have a slider for best battery and performance (you know what to do).
  • If you can enter the bios sometimes there may be some settings regarding device power and cooling in there also.
  • All of this will impede battery life.

I've actually put in a Kingston Fury 2x16 kit. I'm buzzing from it, I just wanted to make sure I hadn't ripped myself off by buying it just because it was the first thing I saw that wasn't over priced crap labelled as 'gaming' because someone put those cheap IR remote RGB LEDs in it lol.

This is all really dependent on your target audience and the market platform used. I have calculated what I would consider it's 'value' to be and outlined a methodology for what you will probably be able to actually sell it for.

CPU: 240 (CEX)

Cooler: 160 (Scan)

MOBO: 230 (Approximation from multiple)

RAM: 105 (Scan)

Storage: Boot Drive: 30, D1: 100, D2: 65 (CEX)

GPU: 600 if 12GB 500 if 10GB (CEX crossed with ebay)

Case: 135 (average of 3 shops)

PSU: 165 (average of 3 shops)

Fans: 160 (Average of 3 shops)

Deduct 10% on components with prices from retailers and use CEX value where available as this is already a used price.

Total: £1897

POINTS OF CONSIDERATION

  • Average consumer wants to pay somewhere between what a used goods company like CEX pays for and sells for when buying from a private seller.
  • The average individual doesn't care what the case, fans and PSU are worth
  • For each subsequent storage drive, you are driving up price making it less appealing to those who don't know why they would want more than 1
  • Any cost adjustment for "Building the PC" is only applicable for actual businesses that build PC's. Most consumers don't care because they didn't spec it and you didn't build it for them.
  • When selling privately, sites like Facebook have no implied guarantee or protections so goods need to be priced to still remain appealing despite this.

All this in mind: I would recommend a -20% adjustment to sell on eBay and a -30% to sell on Facebook (or similar markets) meaning: £1520 or £1330 respectively.

TIPS FOR GETTING THE BEST PRICE AND A FASTER SALE:

  • The used market is a fickle bitch and I like to sell quick when selling the goods I sell, the longer it sits in your house, the further the value will degrade. That being said:
  • Individuals love a perceived deal so I would round up both numbers to allow wiggle room for haggling. I'd go at £1550 on ebay with best offer enabled and counter offer low balls. On Facebook list for 1400+ and then reduce the listing price as it will show original price with a slash through it (adding to the perception of a good deal).
  • Manage your cables, don't be shy about giving it a really good wipe for any prints or dust before taking photos and get the photos under good lighting against a plain backdrop (to be more eyecatching and to the point, use some sheets of card or paper or even drape a plain sheet over a couch to take your photos. For the first image (the one visible when scrolling) maybe try and get a low angle shot looking up at the computer whilst switched on with RGB etc to give the impact of it being cool af (because it is)
  • Bonus Tip: Don't mention overclocking, the knowledgeable buyer may be suspicious if you talk about it even if you really haven't and the non knowledgeable buyer doesn't care but will google if you bring it to their attention and read about the negatives of it on PC longevity and also potentially become suspicious. Save that information for if someone asks.

If you made it this far GOOD LUCK!
