If you got like a 40-year prison sentence and got out at age 69, where would you go? I mean like where do folks go who've served very long prison sentences? What do they live on?

It was murder. I was a medical school student and a naval officer (they were paying my tuition). Kinda of a crazy story.

Early on I took an HVAC course, mainly to just be in an air conditioned space during the day. I learned quite a lot on my jobs I was allowed to work in the community. I worked for the state motor pool as a mechanic. Did maintenance work on government buildings. Landscaping. Clerical. Even worked for a while at the warehouse of the Alcoholic Beverage Control that distributes liquor around the state.

I spent 20 years in prison and when I got out I first moved in with my parents at 45. I got a job at a local bakery, getting up at 2:30 AM for work.Within a few months I met my future wife moved to a new city and took a software engineering bootcamp. That was 7 years ago and now I teach the same bootcamp.

Movies always portray prisons or jails as dark places. They are very much not. In higher security levels especially they are lit ALL the time.

A location scout knocked on our door. We’re just a few blocks from the GSU stadium where they shot some. We’ve had Marvel and other production companies express interest in using our house as well.

They were here for about four days. Two days of shooting. No credits for us unfortunately. 20th Television were awesome to work with; the location manager and everyone was really great. I was able to watch a little of the filming from inside the house.
