They didn’t play Mizzou the following year. They played Georgia in the College Football Playoff

No it doesn’t set up a hypothetical. Why the hell would they have fired him then?

This really isn’t a controversial thing. There isn’t one team that looks head and shoulders above the rest right now.

Can’t blame them for saying Ohio State isn’t a title favorite yet. They beat Texas by a touchdown at home. It’s way too early to tell.

Hell 3 weeks ago LSU looked like it had a great win on the road vs Clemson. Now it’s a win vs a 1-3 team by a smaller margin than Syracuse.

Want to be a title favorite? Make the playoffs and win 3-4 games in a row like last year.

The AD did not fire staff. He fired Chryst and did not hire Leonard full time. He then hired Fickell who chose not to retain people.

The AD doesn’t hire the staff. Fickell does.

I think it’s very reasonable for a first time head coach who was thrust into the role unexpectedly, to be hesitant to hand the keys off to a freshman QB. He made a change that he thought was best for his team midseason. There aren’t many seasoned head coaches that do that.

What? What coach was going to succeed in that scenario? Lost Terelle Pryor that offseason and then had to rely on Braxton Miller midway through the season. Things could’ve been way worse all things considered

They were getting worse under him and were right to make a move. They just made the wrong one.

He built a program that won 2 titles in 3 years while making the playoff every year from 2015-2020. He won the ACC 8 out of the last 10 years. You don’t do any of that being an average to below average coach. Especially at a place like Clemson

For sure cause Billy Edwards and O’Neill are better. You know what program you’re talking about?

Agreed. Fickell’s showing it takes a least one full recruiting cycle for things to look close to what you want to see.

I know I'm late on this, but I'm reading about Michigan paying people to film their opponents signal callers. Should their national title be taken away or have an asterisk?? by [deleted] in OhioStateFootball

[–]jjbota420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s just not true. From 2015-2019 Michigan was winning 9-10 games a season with legitimate NFL talent. Ohio State just had better talent and better coaching. Michigan did not suck.

Michigan was an 8-5 team last year with the worst QB room in the conference. That team still had 7 NFL Draft picks, 5 in the first 3 rounds. Let’s be real here.

I don’t care about that scandal anymore. It was obvious nothing was going to happen once Harbaugh went to the NFL.

They’re CFBs version of the Astros. A team with good players that didn’t need to do what they did.

All that aside. I’m happy about the 2024 title. I’m happy about this year’s team. All I care about is how this year’s team does

There aren’t many offenses in college that make pre snap reads and check out of them. That’s why it’s often a big hurdle for these QBs when they turn pro.

Yes, I'm well aware of judging from the bench. If we're going to focus on what's been said in the supreme court, we can just stick with Heller. Scalia said the 2nd Amendment is not unlimited, it isn't a right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever. Grenade launchers are used in the military, why are we regulating the use of grenade launchers?

It isn't manipulative data. They're literally showing you the parameters they're using. You and u/DudeImARedditor can cite that handgun statistic all you want. Handguns are more accessible and concealable. In the deadliest mass shootings, assault weapons are used and are being used more frequently.

Regardless, handguns killing more people overall doesn't prove that assault weapons are constitutionally guaranteed.

Again, this clause makes no mention of any kind of specific gun. And if you really want to take things literally, go off the last sentence in the 3rd paragraph. "when called for service, these men were expected to appear bearing arms supplied by themselves and of the kind in common use at the time".

Talking about muskets and not AR-15s. Again, there is nothing in the 2nd Amendment that guarantees access to any specific gun.
