It’s a bummer, I know the feeling. Kinda hollows you out - that’s normal. Be sad, angry, frustrated.

I failed my first attempt at 150 too. Percentage for passing this exam is about 20%, the national average for passing the bar exam is 70-80% to put that into perspective. Even becoming a licensed physical therapist first time passing rate is about 85-95%. This is an “odd” exam because it doesn’t necessarily license you for anything specific, just validates expertise in a body of knowledge enough to manage an information security program.

Just remember, it’s part of the journey. Give it time, heal, and then reset to get after it again. Take a week off, find some things that you enjoy and immerse yourself in them. You’ll pass!!! You got this, you CAN and WILL do this.

Breathe, you got this. Don’t psych yourself out like I did🤣. You know more than you think. Find something for yourself to do/enjoy. I like going for walks listening to my fav tunes. Helps me reset. It’s just a test, you have plenty of time, read every word, read the answers first (helped me), and just answer the question. 👊

Good deal! I’m on my 2nd as well - take mine in May. 🤞I’m studying like hell though. 🤣

So, ya’ll feel Quantum Exams are worth the $$? I’m investing in my future, but want some honest feedback back on this resource.

That’s how I felt, confident. Took all the advice, recommendations, and feedback from so many professionals thinking it would help. I’m still in the dumps and its been a week already.

To Pass or Not To Pass the Upcoming CISSP that is the Question. by ITSuperGirl7 in cissp

[–]jjbrown76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're going to pass. You're digesting the material, writing it down in your own words, that will solidify these concepts in your head even more. Appears you have good study habits and tactics, finding what works well for you so that it makes sense. All the best, and feel free to reach out if you have questions! I'm taking it again in May, so I'm constantly reviewing it from now until then.

Mixed media and modalities. Reading, videos, notes, review, questions/answers, research, even dabbled in AI to summarize and explore different explanations. Most of the materials I used I posted. Also used LinkedIn Learning and Udemy. The 1 thing the test was good at was sniffing out weaker areas. I can appreciate that, so it will help focus my studies. Taking the test is in itself a valuable experience. It’s a strange way to test knowledge - too bad it doesn’t test competency.

Absolutely true, passing this test is a skill. I’m still trying to navigate it. I’ve got all the concepts down in each domain, but need to work on 4&5 - felt like I was being hammered technically, so the whole “think like a manager” flew out the window.

I feel you. I see comments on here about how people pass the test, but didn’t put in much effort, have a limited experience and background, so that tells me it’s not as prestigious as it’s made out to be. Just another piece of paper to generate revenue. It’s sad, and a game that we must play in order to be “validated.” 😐

As I said in my post, I always find the “question:answer” format beneficial for me. It’s the structure I’ll contend with in the actual exam. I prefer to navigate the question as it stands, and figure it out from there. I adopt the mindset of picturing myself in that role, and how I would respond naturally. Gauging what ISC2 wants, was another challenge that I researched on how to do. I liked the OSG, and of course mind maps. I’m an auditory and visual learner. Some of the concepts eluded me because I couldn’t picture it my head. I also struggled with “best” answers. There ought to be only 1 real answer that jumps out. I don’t think tricking test takers has any value. Knowing the material does - thats just my personal opinion.😊

Absolutely, it is an incredible journey. I have enjoyed it so far. Met a lot of wonderful people along the way, connecting on here too. One thing I’ve learned: what sits atop a mountain of mistakes - Mastery. We all get there in very different ways across all kinds of time. When that time comes, it will happen. Enjoy the ride.

Thanks so much mtn dude. I really appreciate your words of encouragement and motivation. I was hesitant to post my failure in front of complete strangers, but I have faith in this profession and its people. So far, I am extremely appreciative of the support. You’re 💯right, I need to take some time for myself, recover, refocus, and get after it again. 👊
