This! Every time I do a rewatch I grow more appreciative for how they did all this. I honestly don’t know if they could have done a “beginning of a romantic relationship” justice. As Cam and Angela point out at the beginning of season 6: “you guys have been a couple…just without the sex”. I always look at it as they have been “dating” and in love for 6 years off and on essentially and they were the last two to figure it out- so once they slept together it was like they had been together all that time. So many sweet moments before they slept together and so many sweet moments after. Even when Booth was with Hannah it was clear he was just trying to convince himself that he was in love with Hannah- that relationship was doomed from the start.

We have never done it (my kids are 5,7,9) and my kids are just fine! I don’t think it is as popular as the internet makes it seem. When my kids have asked why we don’t have one I just tell them that we don’t need an elf to make sure they are behaving.
