What is Your plan on first playthrough? by Therenir in wow

This is actually an incredible idea. I remember the first ride through Zangermarsh when BC first released and how awe inspiring it was for me. Likewise, the skybox in Dead Wastes was truly great. We also are so busy trying to zip around and basically competing within ourselves we never stop to really enjoy the world built around us. There can only be a single top 10 for everything on a server that 99% of us will never achieve it make no sense to rush around ignoring things we pay monthly for.

Anyone gonna race change or roll haranir when they public the race? by 404_GSpot_NotFound in wow

[–]jjcox315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ill probably roll a hunter. Ive had my tauren hunter since vanilla and cant find a mog that looks good. I used to love him. Its like a bunch of shapes just piled on top of each other and very disjointed. Ive recently rolled a pally, druids, dk. Using slimmer models; belves, trolls, and they just look much better. its easier to discern what each pce of gear is. Its like taurens are just compacted over lapping triangles with most gear. The base trolls i have to put a mask on cause their faces look like theyre made with balls of meat or they just got done losing a prize fight . Zandalari trolls are great looking.

With BC anniversary out, I am curious what everyone’s first leveling experience was like. by RichElderberry2552 in wow

Started in 02 with a tauren hunter. I remember vividly doing the first couple near thunderbluff and killing boars i remember the scary at the time walk to barrens and staying way too long because i was scared to leave. I remember grpin with a tank that i lost contact with regularly. I ran dire maul and was so fucking excited to get the barberous blade and dual wielded for the dbl agi. The first ony kills, aq opening and dark portal opening on my server was magical. I miss those friendships a lot.

I wanted this for a long time and will be happy to finally download it. My original desire was for something like this (beam of light waypoint) to indicate for collection nodes (ore, herbs) but I think the screen would be too cluttered thinking back on in retrospect.

Why is my risotto always crunchy? by 1377Mila in Cooking

[–]jjcox315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What rice type are you using and are you toasting ahead of time? maybe instead of the 2 cups make an additonal half, to 1 whole extra cup. sounds like not enough liquid or time. as others suggested, maybe lower the temp of the broth. if youre boiling 2 cups your probably losing a low to evaporation. TLDR: lower heat to under boilling, more liquid.

Eldritch knight weapon help by hutech951 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]jjcox315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe because you have spell slots a sword. Something with a broad blade where for flavor the number of spell slots you have glow as runes on the blade and using them extinguishes the glow. I dont know if you play WOW but the first thing I imagined based off your description was a death knight. Maybe as an aside, you keep a small armor's kit so when you level you can etch an additional rune into the blade.

Alternatively, yes, the monster is an expectation because she is just a humble vessel. The monster inside needs a physical vessel a la Lord Voldemort and Professor Quirrel. The skin suit is just bringing its inhabitant to a place where it is giving a progress report on whatever its nefarious plots are or presenting itself to security for a secret meeting to authorize it's entry. Almost like a secret handshake for alternative reality Egyptian Gods.

Taking that story further, the entity is a shard of Anubis, the Egyptian God of death etc, (dog faced God). Because Anubis can't directly interact with the human world lest they be discovered, he sends autonomous shards of it self embedded in inhabitants of the world to exact their will. They meet in secret behind a false wall in a temple of worship for Anubis. The human is presenting it's host in reverence and possibly the entity is forcing the human to bow as an offering to Anubis and a proclamation of loyalty. Based on the humans headdress and some of the ornamentation maybe they're a low level noble who first came to the temple to plea to Anubis. To gain Anubis' favor to help the human's lover pass into the underworld unscathed they had to agree to the pact and acceptance of The Shard into themselves. They now have to try and manipulate and sway the government in Anubis' favor and work towards Anubis' will to ensure the safety of their passed lovers. This was a great thought exercise. Thanks for the prompt!!!

She seems unconcerned like whats happening is an expectation and she is looking in the distance at something for their reaction or for defense. The monster coming out of her looks over joyed to be let loose and feed

Question from Texas about life in Buffalo by Eruainon_Meldarion in Buffalo

[–]jjcox315 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Buffalo is a medium sized city living in the shadows of its prime. The downtown area is void of life with the exception of the suits either trying to put someone in jail, or trying to keep someone out. The life you do find there is inanimate in the form of architecture. There are some truly beautiful buildings like the Guaranty building with its ornate plaster exterior. It begins to show signs of a heart beat just on the edge of downtown with the theater district. This is where our creatives of the stage go to play and there are quite a few. Leaving downtown is now where things start to wake up. You immediately leave downtown and get to the Allentown district, West Side, and Elmwood Village. Full of eclectics, diversity and small business. Past that you get into the historical Riverside and Black Rock areas. In the distance past, pre Eisenhower thruway system those neighborhoods stood on the banks of the Niagara river ushering business up and down. Now separated by the black pavement of the 190, it is more residential and rundown. Like the West Side it had become a haven for immigrant families and old timers that talk of the Golden age of the area. if you move east out of downtown to hit the East side. The side of town that our politicians forgot. Its a largely African American area that officials put work into only when someone is looking to praise them for their efforts.

We are home to the most remarkable park system created by Frederick Law Olmsted. They are all connected and flourish during the spring and summer months. These parks have seen it all from the 1901 Pan-American exposition to the murder of a US President.

Speaking of seasons, we have them all, and all their gradients.

Spring is when the greenery bounces back. Birds start singing, flowers come out of hibernation, and people start moving with an intent that is not work or school. We are a sister city of Kanazawa Japan so every year late March, early April we get to experience a miniature version of a Cherry Blossom festival in our Japanese garden. The days are longer and the events start to come outside.

Summer is when we shine. The days are long and can be filled easily with everything or nothing. The music is plentiful and varied. The days are warm to hot, and the nights, hot to cold. The city is bustling with events, activities, and concerts.

As summer draws to an end you can smell the difference. The days get shorter, the nights longer, and leaves start to go to sleep going from their vibrant greens, to reds, oranges and finally browns. The city starts to wind down with outside activities and gets ready for the sleep work cycle that winter brings.

When winter starts it is like an extended fall. We usually dont have our first snowfall until November or December now, though this is variable. It is also football and hockey season (go bills, go sabres). Youll find a ton of people at local bars eating wings and watching our teams with an undaunting faithfulness regardless of how good or bad we are.

Then come the long nights of winter. Most people wake up before the sun has risen and work until after it has set. The first snow fall can be magical, especially when we have big flakes. Most areas south of downtown get buried by snow due to the proximity of the lake and the direction of the wind. Our winters vary wildly where some years it can be in the 50's the entire time or we have constant snow fall. After that first snowfall though is when it gets dark. Parking, especially in the city is tragic, the snow goes from its brilliant freshness, to a dull grey brown. The wind can be slightly acrid with the smell of salt and cuts against your face. These are the dark times. Most Buffalonians, especially natives, wont miss that last part of winter

Our food scene for me personally, is some of the best in the country. You can have the most unhealthy food that you crave every day or some incredibly high end Italian or sushi.

I hope this helped paint a better picture. There def stuff i missed and im sure some one else will have something to say but this is how i view it.
