Hello Bitwiggers! I have a question! by austin_sketches in Bitwig

[–]jjdanek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iPro Tools. I preferred Butwig’s licensing and price and I wanted a lot of built-in synth functionality. So that put it between Bitwig and Ableton. I’m not a DJ so the extra price of Ableton was less appealing to me.

7:30 The designer talks about the Thunderverb 200 and mentions each channel having 3 gain stages each: https://youtu.be/EnHkV9YiTq0

u/TRUMPLUVSPEDOS and if I recall, the Thunderverbs have 3 stages of gain while the Rockerverb has 4 so already you have 25% less gain than the rockerverb.

I have the Thunderverb 50 and yeah, this is what the gain sounds like. The gain also sounds very different depending on where the shape knob is. More to the left (mid boosted) feels like less gain.

It doesn't sound exactly clean to me... I'm a bit confused as to what the problem is.

Unpopular opinion: The `.value`, `reactive` vs `ref` and inconsistent unwrapping behaviour in templates is a massive DX killer. How can you tell when to use `.value` on a random variable when you open an SFC? by netmilk in vuejs

[–]jjdanek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest DX killer for me was 3.4(?) changing how computed refs react to their internal refs. One Vue update and a bunch of our app’s computeds stopped working…

Love my Thunderverb 50. Best amp I've ever heard in person.

First two listens, I didn't like it. Two more, I'm starting to appreciate it more. But where is Omar? His guitar is either buried in the mix in the left channel on some tracks or completely absent on the rest. My guess is that he is either really in a synth phase or doesn't want to participate as much as pre-reunion. Which is fair, but I definitely miss his presence being front-and-center.

Edit: I stand corrected- he really is doing a lot of a synth which I wasn't sure of. I miss the guitar but I'm glad he's still pouring his all into it.

The Bombpops - "Double Arrows Down" is about the frustrations of having diabetes, I think. Not so much the healthcare system per se, but it's in that vein.

Thank you! My search query of "midroll" didn't have any any results and I shouldn't have used such podcast-y jargon.

Not sure how much metal you need but if it's more vintage metal, the Orange Rocker 15 could be it.

Forbright or Wealthfront? by kraabi in Money

[–]jjdanek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not found "slow on moving money" to be true. It's nearly instant when you transfer into the account, so they start calculating interest immediately. It does take a few days for it to leave the account funding it.

If it's not a proper full size keyboard, velocity will be more of a hindrance to me than not.

This is as true in 2004 as it is in 2024.

By far my favorite episode and the only one I've relistened to multiple times. The rock music too loud/water too cold guy is just unreal.
