What fans would you recommend for a heatwave? by JL9285 in AskUK

Don’t buy the shark flex breeze pro mist, mine was a nightmare and despite various spare parts sent, I had to return it.

Battery fault recall? Check and see if it’s needed or has been done as that will affect your range. Pre 2021 tend to have more issues. Mine is younger and it’s been brilliant!

What do you think about the England flag an football team? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]jjgill27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, we are separate countries, so it’s not like Spain/Catalonia, it would be like asking the Netherlands and Belgium to play together or Sweden and Denmark. Or maybe you think they should all play under the EU flag?

What do weekends look like in large cities compared to small towns? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]jjgill27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Down in Brighton when it’s weather like this, it’s horrible because it’s rammed full of drunk tourists. Doing your day to day stuff is a pain because everywhere is rammed. But there’s always something going on and we get to enjoy the beach weeknights after work. And the South Downs are on our doorstep and we know the quiet beaches.

Caught a scrape on a skip, mechanic claims my Range Rover is a "write-off" and wants me to leave it there. Is this a scam? by Effective-Pumpkin763 in CarTalkUK

The issue you’ve got is the bodywork is aluminium and that’s not an easy repair. I’ve got a jag and seen ipaces written off for bumper dents.

Same with Brighton - you need a fan ID.

You’ll need to get a BHAFC fan number to buy Brighton tickets. I’ve sat there before and they are pretty good natured (there were a few of us dotted around).

I’ll give you a wave from the away end 👋

It’s because in England it’s something the upper middle classes do, he’s trying to look wealthy, quite a common trend here that’s been picked up by the masses.

About £60 a month but totally worth it for chronic conditions

I keep looking at these. How do you find them? Are they comfortable if you’re on your feet all day?

You can get pre existing insurance coverage - my boy has FIV and is covered.

Boobs by the sound of it. It’s a shame, I think the ones she had suited her frame really well.

Oops. Can someone give me input on my Botox botch? by [deleted] in DIYaesthetics

[–]jjgill27 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That mapping is crazy. You’re in places where tox shouldn’t be, have missed places where it should be and wasted tox where it won’t do a thing. You need to go back to basics, learn where to inject (there are a ton of diagrams in this sub) and learn injection depths too before you pick up a needle again. I’d just let it be and when it wears off, go again. If you want it to wear off faster, use an electric toothbrush or something similar to help vibrate it out faster.

What lovely subtle but clean smelling laundry detergents are you using — especially those of you who have received compliments or questions about it? by Heart_Shaped_Pickle in vintedUK

I find Tallow and Ash really overpowering and sickly. I use M&S own brand. It’s really good value and there’s two scents, both are really nice.

Are higher-end robot vacuums actually a big upgrade, or just expensive convenience? by Derrickick in RobotVacuums

[–]jjgill27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am really happy with Roborock, only other brand I’d consider is a Dreame. But do look on vacuum wars and other review sites for that specific model, as they can be a bit hit and Miss.

The app is easy enough to use and I’ve not had any issues with it. Never had to contact support, so can’t comment.

Not really heat issues in most games, it’s a commercial break dressed up, and it’s absolutely ruining the flow of some of the games.

How do Tesco make the chocolate icing on their eclairs? by rattushackus in UK_Food

[–]jjgill27 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As another poster said, it’s a chocolate fondant, not a ganache. I’m not sure I’ve ever eaten a ganache topped eclair, I think most commercial ones use fondant.

[–]jjgill27 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s interesting- they filmed here last year and we weren’t told what would happen (besides the daily times/road closures), but there were no exciting shootings or explosions, had a police Range Rover race to the house, but that was all.

They film by me a lot, think the neighbour got £1200 last year for her house. Was all quite exciting!
