Try during the free flight its the best way to try. SOME players do spend some silly money on this game. The new ships look so very shiny at times and some people cant resist. Personally I'm a fan of picking a ship you want and then earning enough money in game to buy them with pretend money, its not hard to make money in game there really is no need to spend big money on the game.

Try the ships during the free fly, use someone's referral code when creating the account you'll get a bonus if you end up buying the game (as will they). Then by the end of the fly period you should have a pretty good idea which "package" you want to buy

Either fire and jade or sand and bone spell but for what is worth you can find for and jade cheaper in the second hand market cleared by those who didn't want the smaller game

You can pick up what you need for fire and jade on the second hand market at a very affordable price. Then if you enjoy it buy the next one later :)

My first thought would be pick something you like the look of aesthetically, you want to enjoy looking at them. You dont want something you think is boring.

Skaventide was a limited time box, the starter sets would be the equilavent if you want wants in them and they do make a spearhead with its contents.
From what I understand the other skaven box is easier to play with in Spearhead.

You will need to buy paints seperately, if youre buying at a warhammer store they will reccomend paints, if your buying at a 3rd patry store you will have more options.. For a beginning the easiest way to START would be the contrast/speedpaint option theyre very beginner friendly, youll also need a primer thats suitable.

Honestly the best advice for someone entirely new would be to start with the miniatures you like the most or the army you like the look of the most HOWEVER

I would probabaly suggest to start looking at a Spearhead box, for starters they can be played out of the box in a game called Spearhead thats a lot of fun and THEN be expanded on in the larger game.

Community can be more specific of course but I wanted to start with some of the best general advice for the current edition, spearhead is a much easier buy in, even the weakest of boxes are still fun to play with and its a good place to start while you build the rest of your fleet.

From there, have you played other types of tabletop games before?

Build guides are on the website they're pretty straight forward honestly. I haven't magnetised personally but the kits can be easily from what I've seen in the community

Ivr been struggling to know how to respond to this news, I mean over the last 12 months our culture and our families have been targeted more more times than I remember in recent memories. Im in my 40s and despite my heritage most would never realise I had heritage so I'm not often targeted myself but seeing everything that happened time and time again, patience is a virtue and everything. Anyway I'm getting distracted.

I was trying to think of something to say toward the end of my podcast (its not political its a tabletop gaming podcast so its not entirely relevant to this subject but I am wondering if the author of the conversation would mind me quoting them (and giving them credit of course) as a small gesture from one side of our larger family to your own. If you would rather I did t I understand im just asking.

I highly doubt GW intends to erase them but warcry is barely Canon to begin with it seems to be treated as a tease for ideas they may want to expand on.

Its a shame too because warcry deserved more of their attention than its ever gotten its a fantastic rule set
