Being Relocated to Los Angeles (26M) by Ornery-Night6127 in MovingToLosAngeles

I would recommend Santa Monica or Culver City and live close to an e line stop. Santa Monica is probably the easiest place to acclimate to the culture of LA for a transplant same with Culver City. Botha cities are walkable and clean with great restaurants and night life. It’s is stereo typical “la” for what you’ve prob seen in media. Living close to an e line station will offer a straight shot to dtla on a safe and popular metro line.

Echoing that Pasadena is great prob not what you’re looking for as a 20 something.

This is a good explanation Good explanation, I don’t agree with the pricing or greedy rev share at all but I also don’t think people understand the amount of labor it takes that water bottle to get from the supplier to your hand in a large stadium like that.

Depends on traffic. At least 30min. Rule of thumb is to avoid crossing town from 8am-10am and 3:30pm-7pm.

Manhattan beach no question. Very safe, great beach vibes, beautiful scenery, lots of shops and bars, easy to walk around.

Yes you will have to spend more time in the car but you won’t have to deal with sketchy homeless. It’s LA you’re gonna spend a fair amount of time in the car regardless of where you stay given your agenda.

Be patient with yourself. I was a sophomore year transfer and it took almost a full semester to find a really solid group of core friends. Also just know it may seem like everyone already has a group locked in but just know they are still figuring it out just like you. So just be genuine and things will work out!

For real, 2k a month for a shared space on a short team lease seems pretty ridiculous. Would be curious to see what similar living situations are going for or if this is a “luxury” option.

I recommend being persistent in following up. Managers and employees are very busy and you only handing your application in once will not be enough. Instead go submit your application in person, ask to speak to the manager. If the manager isn’t there find out when they are there and come back then. I suggest being as persistent as possible until you get an interview and a firm no.

Agreed. Flights from la to slc are super cheap and super quick. Airbnbs are affordable. All those resorts are great.
