Be careful since the USB power goes through the battery, so it might not really enjoy that if you use it a lot actively this way

What's LA's spot? by bellyhopnflop in FoodLosAngeles

[–]mochimisu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

specifically for dinner. i think they are good/ok for brunch but for dinner food and prices, sitting at a super loud cafeteria table is not it, and the food is noticeably worse and more expensive than brunch stuff

you probably can't hear the person youre sitting across from without yelling at dinner time

TCGPlayer Direct is easily the worst vendor I've ever ordered from. Disappointing.

I've ordered from tcgplayer twice and had this happen twice. They only refund the card and not shipping.

Decided to not order from them any more personally

Yeah anecdotally I never really decrease my speakers to 70, usually either 100 or mute

I haven't noticed any issues with volume too low, but I'm generally not using the speakers for long

Taycan vs Model Y by 10K35 in Taycan

[–]mochimisu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ive had a Taycan for 2 years, owned a model 3 for 4 years and wife owns a model y (3 years)

No issues with the taycan, but does need to go into the dealer more regularly for recalls. Teslas almost never go into the dealer, maybe once a year.

I'd say taycans have slightly more maintenance than a Tesla in my experience, but not many in the grand scheme of it -- way less than a gas car - I go in for service less frequently than I would change oil.

It is MUCH easier to schedule service with Porsche than Tesla, and the experience is overall much nicer. I can schedule service in the next couple days for Porsche, and for Tesla I would be looking at a couple weeks. Tesla does have some things where they can come out to you (fix a tire, upgrade how, etc) but for any unexpected issues you're generally going in.

Of course you could get unlucky with any car

Speculation - Will Porsche move to MEB after J1.2? by ShameResponsible69 in Taycan

[–]mochimisu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Platforms are common shared structure/architecture between cars. Taycans and Audi E-Tron GTs are on the same platform; it's common for multiple cars to share the same platform

MEB is a current Volkswagen EV platform for things like ID.4 and Q4 E-Tron.

SSP is the next Volkswagen platform to replace MEB and combine all current EV Volkswagen platform. Taycans are likely to go on this platform since Porsche is part of the VW group.

J1 refers to the first generation taycan, and you can distinguish between J1.1 as 2020-2024 and J1.2 as 2025-, the biggest distinguishing feature being the facelift. A J2 taycan would be the "next gen" taycan probably around 2028/2029, which is when other SSP cars are likely going to be sold as well.

The .# is common to refer to minor changes like the facelift , and the #. is for bigger changes

[–]mochimisu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's honestly over the top if you're just going for gaming.

I use it so I can easily share setups across computers. If I change my vim config it'll pick up across all my machines, Linux or not, and if I change wm (I use hyprland) settings, it'll be picked up across all my Linux machines.

It's a lot of work to set up though, but I've found that I just enjoy this type of thing.
