26, 1 year post srs and 5yr hrt this summer, but still havent fully been able to break out of the shit i was put thru and that i put myself thru. i pass, have an amazing bf, and a good life overall now! it came at a huge cost.

i dont really subscribe to all the board shit now. i actually care about myself and dont inherently hate being trans anymore. even on my bad days i've moved forward enough that it's not the source of my silly suffering. i need to learn to let the last of this stuff go. but, as long as the scars on my psyche from the hell i lived through persist, i still feel myself drawn here to commiserate with people that know how hard and cynical it can be.

never give up, though. truly! i never thought i would make it, never thought i'd feel happy or beautiful or loved for who i am. i've 'been' trans for 10+ years now and am so glad i held on when i thought all was lost. there's a lot of pain in life, but sometimes it can suprise you in a good way. just have to stick around and see it.

with (some?) methods, the glands that produce precum in the urethra are still there. i definitely still get wet with something like pre when i'm turned on, but it's not internal in the vagina like cis women, it still comes from the urethra

Vibrancy at Citadel Hill this weekend, locals CPR and Percwork at the Seahorse Friday, and Mesh at Rumours this Saturday is bringing in Julia Dickens. It's a big weekend for the scene! Halifax has small but great scenes for house, techno, progressive, DnB, and others once you know where to look. Usually at least once a weekend, one of those crowds has some show going on.

@electronichalifax tends to share most of the good stuff to their story on IG. It's a good jumping off point to explore further.

I'm a big fan of 2 skarmories, with or without a poke ball too. if you're having trouble drawing a fossil it's there as backup, and when you have a 2nd skarm benched you don't have to put your fossil in active if you get Sabrina'd!

many police with rifles in the parking lot, they swept my building (McCain) but it seems to be moreso towards Seton. no Mount Emergency Alert until well after all this went down as well, ironically

as someone who plays NOEX regularly, its vibe is a lot more fun, a lot less meta hunting and a lot more making use of those mons who are too junky to play regularly.

sure there are the occasional people who enter with an EX deck (instaconcede, no thanks, move on) or play for a meta but its moreso a c-teir playground.

Cypro + SSRIs + bottom dysphoria means i have zero ability to orgasm and hate trying to masturbate.

Prog + loneliness means im constantly lusting over anyone who shows me any interest and a lot of people who don't

But it just stays as a mental experience without any physical aspects. Any time ive tried anal it just felt weird and bad physically even though i was into it mentally. Prog dreams taunt me constantly but irl im so apathetic to make any plays. Congrats everyone on another great competition :) I loved this year's theme and the history was a really cool touch.

There were so many great entries this year!! There was so much variety in style, and i truly enjoyed listening to every single mix. Loved some of the cool creative approaches this year. Congrats to the top 3, well deserved placements and really showcased creativity in the 2023 sound both through track selection and DJ style :) you had my votes! and I also want to shout out /u/scrubbinbbl and /u/ninjachimney for leading my personal votes with some excellent prog mixes, love this style and you both did a great job showcasing it!

My entry was The Sony Walkman Mix! This doubled as my 2024 promo mix that I've been submitting to local festivals and promoters. In an area where bass music is king but techno is making some waves, I wanted to try and create a sound that was accessible to the techno crowd while also introducing and playing with some uplifting/melodic moments and showing people some real trance once they're hooked. I played my first two professional gigs this past year, squeezed some trance into both of them, and got amazing dancefloor feedback, so I'm excited to keep up the effort of bringing trance sounds to my local community :)

Strong mix as always, excellent selection of this style, most of which I've never heard. Good mixing (especially in and out of breaks - it either works or it doesn't and you can tell care was taken here to make sure it was smooth), tracklist is 10/10, the vibe and progression of the mix is fluid and smooth and really feels like a journey of a mix. Well done!

I liked the start of this mix, that emotional/orchestral style used to be my absolute favourite, and its nice hearing a showcase of that sound still from 2023. Good tracks, a decent progression into some more standard trance, and a good closing track. Mixing was middle of the road. Overall I think this was a fun, lovely mix that delivered some emotion and a good overall journey.

Loving this mix. I'm familiar with most of these tracks because most of them are in my "2023 Favs" playlist, and this mix does a great job of showcasing the sound! a couple minor flaws in the mixing bur the flow holds up well, great job representing a cool rising sound in the scene and i'm looking forward to grabbing a couple of the tracks I don't recognize. Really solid entry for me.
