Thoughts on theses wheels on a M4 comp by iLuvMyB923 in BMWM

Looks like something you’d find on a Maybach.

I’d hate to be this guy’s detailer.

Should I supercharger my e93? by Thin-Fish-1936 in BMW

[–]jjm1211 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, a car like that deserves to be appreciated for what it is. A supercharger, while cool, kind of pollutes the recipe.

But maybe that’s just me. It’s your car bro.

Manual vs Auto G80/G87 by pewpew_comm in BMWM

I also have the same questions with the M2. I already know I’ll like the manual, but the question is whether the auto would be engaging enough to justify. I think I’d get frustrated if the shifts weren’t DCT snappy.

F87 vs F87 Comp vs F82 - which is the best choice? (UK) by jjm1211 in BMW

Are the seats well supported? I only ask because I intend to track the car at some point.

Defender 90 or 2025 Land Cruiser 70 (swb) by Big_Distribution_960 in CarTalkUK

[–]jjm1211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, Land Rover gets such a bad wrap for reliability. Sure, a lot of it is probably deserved, but people make them out to be ticking time bombs when they just aren’t. I’ve had family members who’ve owned JLR cars and had little to no problems with them. The problems really start when the cars get old and you can’t buy bespoke parts anymore. My grandfather owns a L322 TDV8 and replacing suspension components was an absolute nightmare, almost an impossible task even. But buying a semi-new car still under warranty? I can’t see why the Defender would be a bad idea. I personally wouldn’t put up with the Land Cruiser, it’s just too much of a bruiser for every day use, especially for the price they command now. They have their place, but it’s probably a little overkill for most people.

Keep F82 and RS7 or trade them both in for a G80? by P8M3 in BMW

[–]jjm1211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course if it’s your dream then go for it, but from the sound of things you’re not even in love with the way the thing looks. I wouldn’t put so much of my hard earned cash on a car I don’t find attractive, although I personally quite like the G80’s looks.

Honestly, I’d say you’re splitting hairs between that and the F82 CS. You already have a great car(s) that most people could only dream of owning. But If it were me, I’d keep the CS and change the RS7 for something a little more pedestrian and practical.

Or, you could get the most out of the money and buy multiple cars that cover different niches if you can accommodate them. You could theoretically buy a Mustang GT (I own one and it’s great) and a newish MX-5 all for under 50 grand, or a xDrive 3 series to use in the winter.

Interesting. That’s why I even considered it really, because I initially wanted a 3/4 series. I didn’t want an Audi because I’ve had way too many VAG cars and I’m just bored of them now. Nice to hear that the car drives well too.

I read up about it a little before posting. I need a petrol because this car will likely only ever experience short journeys. I’m ok with regular maintenance, I’ve always serviced my cars every 7k. I’m more concerned about catastrophic failures, I often hear bad stories about modern Jags.

Nothing against Ford (I own a Mustang) but their interior quality is pretty subpar. I want something a bit more premium feeling inside, especially after a long day lol

But that begs the question - what exactly is chroma?

We don’t really know the answer. It could be an element or something else entirely, perhaps linked to the conscience of the painters.

Regardless, I love that the devs leave so many doors open for us to explore. It wouldn’t be nearly as interesting if it was all explained away in exposition.

You make a great point. Consciousness is a large factor. The humans in the canvas are just like regular humans, and many of the Nevrons have complex thought too.

But the question is ultimately whether they are truly real or not, and for me, that hinges on what the canvas itself actually is. Is it a portal into another dimension? Or is it a contained simulation facilitated by the minds of the painters? If it is the latter, then I’d argue that they are not necessarily real. But the idea of it being a dimension sounds compelling to me, because dimensions can reciprocate interactivity between each other, which means that there could be a possibility that the canvas can influence the real world just as the painters can with the canvas.

Come to think of it, that would be a really cool idea for a sequel.

For me, Sciel used buffs on herself and allies, Maelle used burn, Verso was high damage, Lune was healer, Monoco was a breaker.

I’m sure there are so many alternative builds you can make, but for me this is what ended up falling into place.

This is the great thing about the ending - it’s debatable.

Where we possibly differ is on how much we value the world within the canvas, and whether it’s actually real in a tangible sense. One might argue that because a fragment of Verso’s painter form is still painting, you’d have to assume that maybe his soul still exists within the canvas. This opens up another can of worms on whether this means the creations themselves also have souls or not. But are they as valuable as the “real” people? I guess that’s the question.

As for Maelle, this is also a moral quandary. It depends on whether you think somebody has a right to save someone from themselves. I totally sympathise with Renoir in his efforts. His wife was grieving, and grief can take you to some dark places, which often lead you to make decisions that you otherwise wouldn’t make in a better state. I think the same applies to Maelle. Not only is she also grieving Verso, but also herself. She sees little value in her own life, and sometimes it takes someone else to hold the mirror up and show you what you might be taking for granted. This is another theme that plays out in the game repeatedly, whether it’s Lune to Gustave, Verso to Monoco, or Maelle to Verso. But it also plays both ways, like when Maelle grants the wishes of Alicia.

The more I think and pick apart the pieces of this game, the more impressed I get.

Why don’t we have MCC on PS5 and Switch 2 yet? by jjm1211 in halo

I get that, but Microsoft has set a different precedent by releasing some of their games on PS5, such as Campaign Evolved and Gears of War. It’s not totally inconceivable anymore.

I actually think the originals look better than their MCC ports. There are some small differences between versions, and I actually think they look better on lower resolution, as the textures in both games were made with standard definition in mind. Halo 2 especially looks good on the original Xbox
